That's just not right, Next they will be testing for nicotine
What are they going to do About drug testing in the state where p0t Is legal, hmmm
If they can't fire you for drinking at home, Which is legal, why would they be a be able to fire you for doing that at home?

My job does test for nicotine. Not for employment, but for insurance. Since I use nicotine, and will test positive my insurance rates are way higher, my deductibles are higher and the company does not pay in to the HSA portion like they do for employes that test negative for nicotine. Since I have a big problem with this policy, I choose not to participate in the testing. Because I refuse to be tested, my insurance rates are even higher than if is tested positive for nicotine. Kind of biting my own behind by not being tested, but mad angry enough about the draconian policies that I really don't care if I pay more for my insurance.

Sorry for going off topic! So on to the topic....I pretty much only vape in places I used to smoke before they banned it. I haven't encountered any resistance as of yet. I live on the MN/WI border and vaping is pretty much banned everywhere on the MN side between state and local laws. Just like I do with smoking, I follow the law in some places and pretty much ignore it in others.

Yeah, I stealth vape in some places but not many.
Theaters, nope.
Airplanes, nope.
Airports tho.. Oh yeah! With TSA it is a total PIA to get a "legal" vape in an airport!

Most bars don't mind (i ask a server usually). Restaurants are a nope tho.

A little respect goes a long way and I don't push it when told no.

I use my PV pretty much the same way I smoked durries, I don't vape around people who don't either vape/smoke out of courtesy. I do the odd stealth vape in restaurants and the like when I am too lazy to go outside and most don't mind!

I vape at my desk at work which no one has an issue with and at home where my partner doesn't mind either, but generally just try to be respectful of other people.

I am super surprised you guys have companies doing testing for nicotine over there, that is rather... agh extreme?

no angry reply here, If i must vape around others in public, i usually ask if it bothers them. No one ever complained if i asked first. Every now and then someone will say something like, they think it stinks, oh no worries, i turn it off and put it in my pocket or move over to the designated smoking area. Vaporizers, at least some, can put off a strong odor. Not everyone likes the smell. Any time I go visit family they complain about the smell of my vaporizer. So yes im with ya, I think its rude to walk around stinking up any area with cigarette smoke or vape vapors.

Gotta agree that this approach has gotten me many more positive results than negative ~ and it has opened the door to lots of positive interaction about the vaping experience and lots about "how do those things work?", which has been fun for me...and it's good to turn people on to something more healthy than all the crap inhaled from lighting up the analogues...IMHO.

I appreciate your Leonine refusal to capitulate to this unreasonable policy.

To my mind the vaping in public topic kind of feeds into the whole value of vaping thing.

What I mean is that currently, at least for some of the planet, vaping has great value in terms of being better than smoking: it's cheaper, you wont die, you can move far away from cigarettes by moving from a cig-a-like to a larger PV, you can move away from tobacco flavours making it less likely that you would want to use tobacco to get nicotine, as we have liquids you can reduce your nicotine usage very very slowly and tailor it to your needs...I won't go on.

Heavy handed legislation might (read will) devalue vaping in smoker's minds by hitting hard at all the positives above! Less people will make the change if any of my little list takes a hit.

I'm in the UK, and here we can't smoke in any pubs; fair enough I think. But I think it would be a very good idea to add to the value of vaping. How about excluding vaping from this law (currently there are plans to include it)? If they did this thing then just about every single person who went to a pub and smoked would, at least, try vaping. This would be rather a good thing I think.
