It could be anywhere between 5 - 60 seconds depending upon who you talk to, and what vendor or manufacturer is making the claim. The battery industry has not settled or agreed upon a set standard for the "maximum pulse discharge rate".

This is why most people use the continuous discharge rate to compare battery specifications between battery models. Just about everyone is talking the same language with this spec.*

* That is unless your name is Efest. Efest has a history of over rating their battery specs.

Efest advertises the amp rating of their purple batteries on the label. That would be nice if it wasn't deceiving.

The "35 amps" of the purple 2600mah battery is the pulse discharge rating, not the continuous discharge rate. This battery is a re-wrapped LG18650HE2 battery with a 20 amps continuous discharge rate, not 35 amps like Efest advertises. Kind of misleading, wouldn't you say?

The 3100 mah purple Efest is advertised as having 20 amps. This battery is a re-wrapped Panasonic NCR18650BE with a 4 amps continuous discharge rating. BIG difference. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/batteries-chargers/587759-purple-efest-18650-battery-warning.html
