Hello,i just received my e-cig and its charging as we speak.I have a few questions i would like to ask if that's alright.Im 20 years old from the UK,started smoking at 14 as more of a social thing with friends(dont we all) before i knew it i was addicted.Currently im smoking roughly 50 cigs a day and after having tried various ways to stop since the age of 18,the longest amount of time being 5 weeks of complete cold turkey(the mental addiction finally broke me not the physical).Im hoping the e-cig will be my salvation so to speak :D I have read many reports of people significantly cutting down their nicotine intake with e-cigs and sometimes stopping all together, this is what i aim to do.While nicotine has some health benefits the addiction just isn't worth it to me.Can i ask long term e-cig users on what they have experienced in this regard? i would think it may have something to do with the chemicals added to tobacco to make nicotine more bio available but i'd like some first hand experiences.

Cheers

I'm into my third week on my ecig. I've been a 1 to 2 pack per day smoker, with some short breaks when trying to quit, for more than 20 years. I've had about 5 "real" cigs since I began this venture. What I've noticed, and this has been concurred by many others on this forum and elsewhere, is that analog cigs (i.e., "real" cigs) start to taste VERY bad after you've vaping only, and not smoking, after just a few days. Combination of things I suspect--burnt tobacco really does taste bad and we start getting our true sense of smell back quickly, and the various e-cig nic juices actually "taste" better than burnt tobacco. Beware that there is a somewhat LONG learning curve in using the ecig properly and best results will be achieved by trial and error and staying with it! Some tips: Search for and purchase a good quantity of nic juice that you enjoy and learn to drip this fluid in spent cartridges--prepackaged carts are generally expensive, weak or poor-tasting, and do not have a lot of initial fluid; get plenty of spare parts--batteries and attomizers; learn how to "vape" as opposed to "smoke," but this will come with trial and error; finally, read a lot on this forum! Happy vaping! Remember, the alternative--smoking cigarettes--is almost certain death; that itself should be pretty good incentive.
