Hi this is only my third post as im getting used to the site.
The question I wanted to ask was I have been reading up on sweetners and I have bought some Stevia which is 97% Rebuadioside A. I read this was the best and wanted to know how to mix it in distilled wated to get the right consintrate for adding to e liquids. If anyone could shed some light on this I would be internally grateful Thanks Olly ps I don't know if I have put this post in the correct place so im going to come back to it in a while so if somebody answers me ill say a big thanks when I get back.

Instead of distilled water, mix it into PG. If you have a little 10ml or 30ml dripper bottle that would be best. I would suggest about 9:1 ratio of PG to powder, so if you have a 10ml bottle then add 1 cc of the sweetner and 9ml of PG. Shake really well, then set it in a warm water bath. Don't microwave the bottle since the plastic will melt.

It might take a couple of days to fully dissolve, so treat it like you were steeping a juice. Check it, shake it, put it back up.

If it is like most of the other strong sweetners, then you should only need a couple of drops per 10ml of juice.

Hope that helps.

I honestly did not know that stevia could be used as a sweetener for vaping!

Adding to his question, the small stevia pills, can they be used as well? They are far cheaper than the powder here.

Is xylitol also acceptable? I enjoy using it as a sweetener because of its "clean" taste. Seeing this made me wonder that, I can get hold of the sugar like granules.

Thanks!

I have the stevia already in liquid form, and when I use it, I'm only dropping one or two drops per about 10mL. I have seen much more than that could venture on "too much".

I would agree - if you have the powder form, dissolve it in the PG. Per the ratio offered above, that would get you a 10% solution of sweetener....

Not advisable. Per Kurt, our resident chemist and DIY-er:

I don't use sweeteners either. Sucralose is claimed to be safe, but then again its a chlorocarbon, and the liver generally does not like those. It is heat-stable however, and one of the more popular sweeteners.

People have had some negative results with stevia. I think heat decomposes it and the products are not tasty. Too big a molecule to purposely inhale in my opinion.

Some use ethyl maltol (cotton candy flavor) or one of the bavarian cream flavors, or a touch of vanilla.

I have a question . Has anyone used Liquid Stevia [diluted before using as a DIY sweetner]
I am one of the few that artificial sweeteners leaves a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. I have the "bitter gene". Apparently most pre mixed juices have artificial sweeteners in them. I have found that I can use Stevia. I use a 400 mg/ml stevia liquid. For a very sweet eliquid I use 1 drop per ml of ejuice. Adjust to suit your taste.
