Most of us use hot water to clean them and then allow them to dry. You can speed the process by doing dry burns, but it's a precarious action. If you dry burn to0 aggressively, you will pop the heating coil and create a dead atty. A dry burn is where you go into a darkened room (after cleaning the atty under a hot water tap by running water through it) and holding the fire button down while you look at the coil through the top of the atty. You hold the button until you see a faint red glow, then release the button and press it again. Do this over and over until you don't see little wisps of vapor escaping. That usually takes several burns. At that point, you can refill it and vape. Prime the bridge with a couple of drops of juice, snap on a full cart of new juice, and vape.

Cartomizers are different. Some people boil them for 5 minutes in a boiler on the stove, then let them dry vertically on a paper towel overnight. Others use hot water and a turkey baster to draw water in and out of the carto. Most turkey basters have a plastic tube that comes to a tapered point. You can find the point that is the size of your carto and cut it off a little and a time until the carto is a hard press fit. Then, it's just an action of drawing water in and out for a few minutes and letting them dry.
