When I take my KT PT mini 3's apart to clean them I can never get the thing to screw all the way back together. It's good and tight , just not screwed up as far as it was when it was new. I don't want to keep tightening and crack it. The bottom piece won't screw completely up the post in the middle. It looks like it could go another 3 or 4 turns. If you look at the pic you can see what I'm talking about.

Is there a trick to getting these to screw all the way up?

(I'm not sure if I'm suppose to still be posting in the New Members forum or not. I just don't know how to navigate the site properly yet . In all honesty I'm still a vaping noob so I feel more comfortable here.)

Hello, haven't used the KT Protank, but after watching a couple of vids on youtube it seems that those threads showing are just the way they are normally. You can see the threads showing at 3:11 in this vid.->

Btw, you can start new threads in the new members area until you reach 70 posts, then you graduate from new member status. You can still post in NM, just not start threads.

As long as it's not leaking it's probably not an issue. But if you say that it used to screw in all the way but doesn't now, all I can think of is really give the threads on the inside and outside of that part a good scrubbing. They can look clean but be loaded with black .... and sometimes it affects how well it screws together. As for whether it should be like that, I can't say... all I've got is my mini protank 2's, but I'll check those when I go upstairs in a bit here as they're in my spare parts box, they're almost identical, maybe I'll learn something lol.

Good answers so far. You only need to tighten it snug not tight. Once the glass is sealed on both sides it won't leak. No need to go Hulk on it :thumb:
I have 3 of these and my only problem now is that the chrome plating is wearing off the threads of mine. If you have the money and like those tanks you should check out the aerotank mini. Its made of stainless steel, uses the same coils and has adjustable airflow. I am about to toss one of my PT3 because the exposed metal looks like it's getting corroded. That would not happen with stainless.
