Still haven't really figured this out. Most of my liquid I've been buying from altsmoke. Ordering a few samples on Parkes now, and seeing a range of just about any combination of PV/VG one could want...so I'm really at a loss as to what to get. What is the primary difference I'm going to notice between vaping a PV and a VG liquid, or some combination of the 2? Thanks so much in advance!

Most people prefer (and most commercial juices are) a mix of PG and VG.

PG lets flavors through better, and also lets the nicotine throat hit and irritation through better. VG can dull flavors slightly and will reduce throat hit, but produces a lot more vapor

Personally, I like a high VG mix, myself, but everybody's taste varies. Go ahead and experiment until you find what you like best :) You may even find that some flavors you like better at different ratios

I have always used 80pg/20vg. It seems to work well in my tanks and cartos. From what I understand the consistency of all VG can be thicker so may be tough on a cartomizer. (Vets please correct me if I'm wrong - just going by memory here). Some people have allergies to PG and do 100% VG.

In the end it's probably a matter of preference and what works best with your cartos/atty/tank. Hope that this was a wee bit helpful.

It really is personal preference. Try a few small bottles from a vendor that allows you to pick the pg/vg ratio. See which you like better.

For me, the most VG I can tolerate is 20%, 30% tops. One juice I like is all PG, that's the way it comes. When I can pick I usually get 80pg/20vg.

But this is just my preference. Many people like the complete opposite, or somewhere in between.

vdt, maybe they don't know for sure. I know a lot of vendors are just resellers, they don't actually mix their own juice, so perhaps some of them don't have that information ready to hand. I wouldn't be surprised if more of them started finding out, though, given the recent pushes for more QC regarding juice

PG gives more flavor and throat hit. VG gives more vapor. I myself use 100% VG that I get from Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes as I have an allergy to PG. The juice I get is so thin it doesn't clog tanks or cartos. The juice also tastes so good and I don't notice the lack of flavor at all with VV juice and it has great vapor production. :) HTH you out!

What PV are you using and what cartos or attys do you use?

You got a lot of good info on the differences between the 2 so I dont really need to add to that,
But I would recommend using higher PG juices if you use cartos. High VG juices clog your cartos/attys quicker and also normally don't wick as well. Also try to avoid juices that have flavor sediments, they clog up cartos faster than anything.
Clear, thin juices will help cartos last much longer. I'd try 80/20. Many vendors have it bc it's a popular ratio and it's a good combination of flavor and TH, while still giving good vapor

Something I have also found is I prefer high PG, VG if higher than 30% actually makes me feel sick, it is just so thick and greasy feeling and all that vapor is just too much for me. So I think everyone has to find what works for them. I like 80/20 PG/VG ratio myself and my cartos do better on that mix as well. I don't know how people can vape pure VG, but I know many love it! bnrk

doin an ego-T with an LR atty and type a tank right now. probably gonna order a couple of DC carto's and play with those.
I see altsmoke has some now that hold like 2ml of liquid...anyone recommend anything better? The whole reason I went tank is I was tired of filling carto's all day.

trying to find a site with *good* ry4 that will let me play with the percentages. I'd like to get some 100% pg, 80/20, 70/30, and 50/50.

Hi guys, can I check if a good throat hit is possible with 0mg juices? Will a higher percentage of PG in the juice automatically give a better throat hit or is nicotine an important factor as well?

I have quit analogs cold turkey for several months but the temptation to go back is strong... I am therefore hoping I can try vaping with 0mg juices to stop going back to analogs as the throat hit is one of the main things I missed about smoking...

Thanks!

I'm still a pretty much a noob, but if I were you I would just order some 0 nic juices and some with some nicotine as well. If you are at the point of buying some analogs, just try some of the nic juices and have them as a backup. Inhaling some nicotine can't be as bad as going back to analogs, right?

I've only tried three juice vendors so far. The first had medium thick pg/vg, the second had THICK vg, and the third had thin VG. I liked the flavors of the third vendor a LOT, but I wanted more throat hit so I ordered a 50/50 mix of pg/vg. I liked the pure VG better from this vendor as it had more of a FULL smoke feeling rather than JUST a throat hit and little vapor.

I guess pretty much any juice varies from vendor to vendor?

(I'm still guessing that you are missing the nicotine as well)

I'm having a bad experience with what I think is 100% VG right now. I had ordered a lot of samples from LF a couple of months ago and narrowed down the field to some 'sure things' to order again. All the samples were PG based. I decided to go with VG based this time because I have had dry red skin on my face like a rosecea condition for about a month now and my paranoia as a newbie makes me think it is a reaction to the PG (the red spot/rash whatever is not hideous or that pronounced but it is there).
So anyway, I got my goodies from LF a couple of days ago and man...if the tastes have not changed and the joy definitely left Mudville in my vape. I was going great with Pomegranate before and now I can't even taste it. I had a good tobacco flavor (Winston) that now tastes awful to me. I have some others I haven't tried yet because I figured why open everything at once. But, so far, the VG experience has not been what I expected. Cool, I can blow clouds but there is almost no or only bad flavor and very little TH. Does anyone know if the LF VG base is indeed 100%? And, whether it is or not, does anyone have any tips for me to make this situation better? Or do I just have to suck it up and get back to PG? I can't really pay-it-forward because I live in Italy and that would be just too much hassle all the way round.
On another note I did also just receive some FlavouArt 50/50 juice and a lot of flavors to add to it but I'm going to learn how to mix/steep be patient....ahhhhh! Thanks for being there ECF community. No one else would understand this:blink:
