I started out with a regulated 3.7v ego battery and them moved on to a pair of ego twist. On these batterys my cotton rebuilt evod coils and carto's would last a good while before becoming gunked up and burnt tasting. I then moved onto a Vamo and fell in love with the feel and battery life of a bigger mod. One thing I noticed was that my coils didn't seem to last as long with the Vamo and I just figured that I had a few bad builds and didn't think much of it.

Well a couple of weeks ago I got a Kick 2 and started using that with a KTS with the plan of this being my out of the house vape and using the Vamo around the house. I ended up like this combo more than the Vamo and have been using it ever since. One thing that I noticed is that my coils are lasting twice as long with this setup as opposed to the Vamo.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this with the 33.3 hz china VV/VW mods (vamo, svd, zmax, sid exc.) as opposed to mods with a higher hz PWM (ProVari, evolv kick, DNA 20d exc). This is just observation and not actual testing but I would really like to hear peoples thoughts on this.

Odd.

Theoretically, as long as the coil gets hot enough to vaporize, it should act the same. There are a couple of other untested hypothesis that come to mind, but they're just that. Untested. When I was running my Tesla I can't say I've noticed a difference.

That is what I was thinking at first, but now I am thinking that the way these mods fire is heating the coils up to much for a split second burning the juice a little more. The 6V-off-6V-off firing may be killing my coils a little faster, or I guess I could be imagining it.

I guess I should also mention that I had the vamo set to RMS mode the entire time I have used it.

No problems with mine, if I use the proper technique

I also make sure I rinse out the coils and wicks after every time I drain the clearo or tank

I actually go so far as to pull the rubber cap off and run a stream of HOT water on the coils directly and blow out the water at least 5x

Only burned one coil so far...was a BCC coil and it was due to the long hard drag like an analog rather than puff puff puffing on it

I also run 6-7 watts usually...I do have a USB bypass that ran 2.2Ω and calculated at 11~ watts...it got hot fast!

With my coils on the twist and kick I can run about 15-20ML through them before the flavor starts to drop off, no burnt taste. I then remove the coil and toss the cotton wick in the trash and do a dry burn and rinse on the coil. I then put in a new piece of cotton and the head is like new again. With the vamo I get about 10ML in and start getting a burnt taste and removing the coil there is noticeably more carbon buildup on the coil.

I guess this might be worse because I am using cotton, or maybe my Vamo isn't working like it should. I do get the rattlesnake sound really bad on almost everything I put on it.

It make perfect since to me The mods with the build up are using less efficient circuitry. Ive scoped a Zmax and it while on RMS is better than MEA Its still a very choppy signal VS a Provari, DNA even something that uses evercool circuitry. if the coils are getting just a little hotter then a little cooler you may not notice much difference in the Vape but the evidence shows in the buildup. Its no different than your truck if a censor is out you may not notice and difference in performance but you get a little less gas mileage and carbon build up un your plugs.

I think it comes down to using a higher voltage, than the one on your 3.7 device. My RSST gunks up on my Provari. My BCC Protank II, Davide Mini Clearomizer, and DBox tank, all gunk up. Doesn't matter if it is on my Joyetech Twist, Provari, or Zmax. All the liquid, in these toppers, all turn darker also. I am using all these at slightly higher voltage. Of course, it may be that all these devices use an exposed coil of some type.

The juices don't turn darker on any of my carto tanks. They stay clearer and cleaner. The taste is also better.

I don't know. These are just observations I have made.
