PWM - how to tell

Is there any way to tell what mods use PWM and which ones don't...I presently have an Itaste VTR and love the flavor that comes out. Someone told me it is because it does NOT use pulse width modulation???

I believe the VTR is PWM. just a little higher than 33. I have read 47.5 and 60.
