It's been a long time since I've posted on e-cig forum. But I decided I felt like reviewing the Pyrex Glass Tank AGA-T+ Genesis I received yesterday. Before I go into that - I just want to say I'd long since been considering purchasing an RBA, however the price tags were just too high for me to want to take a chance on something. This is my first RBA, so I can't compare it to other's like the z-atty or other rebuildables out there. I however can imagine that since the ones I've been browsing all use stainless steel mesh and kanthal coils, that the experience is most likely very similar. I've had the genesis for one day. I'm using the steel mesh and wire that came with it. I have no idea what gauge the wire is nor what grade the steel mesh is. Thankfully I have a Provari which has short circuit protection so I can skip the step of using a multimeter to check resistances. That being said - if you've never read it anywhere else - ALWAYS use a multimeter if you do not have a protected PV when setting up your own coils on an RBA. A short circuit can not only damage your unit, but also imposes a risk of bodily harm. that being said - here's my review.
Price of unit: I got mine for $30! When I saw the price I ordered two. I can buy 5 of these things for the price of one z-atty pro, and I don't feel like I'll even need the 2nd unit that I bought, even though it will be nice to have when should I ever feel like this thing needs a cleaning.
Ease of use: I was admittedly a little scared about setting this baby up. I'm no electrician nor engineer. It wasn't bad though. I spent 5 minutes oxidizing and rolling up my steel mesh. another minute wrapping a coil and another half a minute attaching the ends to the posts. I used a tiny screwdriver w/ a rubber handle to get my coils closer to the wick and eradicate hotspots. Later in the night I lessened the length between the center post and my wick to get rid of a glowing spot between the post and the wick. I ended up w/ 2.5ohms and at 4.2v I'm loving it.
Vapor production - WOW! Every hit for the past 24 hours has tasted like a fresh cartomizer. I am noticing that I need to space my puffs a bit to allow the wick to saturate at the coil, however, even after a dry hit this baby is never going to taste like burnt polyfil. I'm getting full flavor from my peach/lychee juice mix. I'm getting huge clouds of vapor off of my coil. I'm impressed
I like the fact that all i'll ever replace is the wick and the coil. I love the fact that no matter how hard I pull on this unit, I'm never going to end up with a mouthfull of juice. There is no flooding, and if the wick does eventually get gunked up it will not bother me to replace it. I came from a dct tank system w/ prepunched cartos. Half the time even after filling one of those cartos and then the tank surrounding I'd get a dry hit from a defective carto. NEVER AGAIN.
I'm sure this product has been reviewed previously, but I just want to say you can't go wrong with this so long as safety is a priority. I'm in love w/ my RBA.. and I'm wondering what I'm going to do with the 10 prepunched carto's I bought in case I ended up not liking my rba.
Good vaping everyone!
