I looked thru the forums and didnt see this posted anywhere, so I hope I have the right forum for it.

Smoktech Pyrex RSST Genesis Atomizer

I know some people have been leery of buying the rsst due to a plastic tank (myself included), but I came across this today. Figured I would share the info for anyone wanting to try the rsst, but didnt want a plastic tank.

The tank on the original RSST is like poly propelyne or something... I haven't heard of any accounts of it being weak to any type of juice. That being said I still plan on getting a pyrex version cause I like the way it looks.

Definitely go with the pyrex tank. I accidently put some grapefruit in mine one morning and it ate the plastic tank, plus, like you said, the pyrex looks very nice.

I have no worries about the durability of the plastic tank as I've never used a tank cracking flavor, but what interests me in the pyrex version is that the overall design of the way the tank is assembled is different and I'm betting the leaking issues are resolved because of it.

The original RSST has a PMMA which is not like polycarbonate plastic ... I actually like the look of the RSST because of the frosted or clouded appearance of the PMMA, but I am not mad at pyrex either. :p

Leaking through the center pin? If it uses the same plastic insulator then no. But you can just use the AGA series silicone insulators. Leaking solved.

Leaking issues???? Gosh, I've been using the original RSST for a year now and never had any leaking issues.... All the same, I want the pyrex version, one RSST is great, two is better :D

I have and love my Pyrex RSST. It's one of my go-to RBA's for an all day vaping set up, while I'm out and about or at work.

With regards to the glass tank, as you may already know, the design is completely different from the plastic tank design. So if you have a plastic RSST, and you buy the glass tank, it will not work. The glass tank is a sleeve, secured by the top and bottom cap's pressure when screwed together via the center post. The plastic tank is a cup that fits over the bottom cap.

With leaking, any genny will leak if you put it in your pocket upside down, or leave it sitting on a table horizontal for a length of time. Other than that, you don't get leaks. Especially true if you use the fill hole plug. I use to get that drop of eliquid that would leak out of the 510 connection with my RSST. I fixed that issue but taking a small piece of Teflon tape (plumbers tape) and wrapping a 1/8" strip around the bottom of the center post, then screwing it to the bottom cap to make the 510 connection. Since doing that, I have gotten zero leaks in the 519 connection.
