Pyrex Vivi Nova - has anyone tried these?

I'd like to try some of the more "exotic" juices, like cinnamons and citrus flavours, and was going to get some of these, but I was also wondering if the tubes could be substituted with the standard Vision VN plastic tanks...

This is the first that I've seen these.

I had tried the smok Titan, a polypropylene-tubed top coil clearotank which was Smoktech's answer to the polycarbonate Vivi Nova. I wasn't impressed. They leaked from between the cap threading if they were not over-tightened. They were my first introduction to a clearotank as I was committed to not purchase any vape gear made from polycarbonate plastic. Anyway, I felt the vape was often on the harsh side, and often muted some flavors to the point of being non-existant. I ended up giving them all away.

I seriously doubt that the tubes are interchangable between the two manufacturers tanks. It's a rarity if you can mix and match parts between manufacturers. The dimensions may be the same(?) but the threading prove to be different. The vendor does state the following, "Note: Vision ViVi Nova tank parts, and replacement coils are not compatible or interchangeable with these "Smoktech ViVi Nova Tanks". Please insure you are choosing the correct replacement parts for your tank."

Having said all of that, I'm pleased that more and more manufacturers are finally "getting it" and offering more products with pyrex glass and eliminating that stupid polycarbonate plastic.

Yeah, I wasn't really expecting them to be mix and match, but was hoping. I'm going to pick up 2 of these and try them out, maybe the head replacements will be compatible as I have about 30 of them laying around

Update:

I received the 2 new Smok Pyrex vivis today. Trying the MBV Banana Split which destroyed the polycarb vivi nova in a few hours, and so far so good. Alas, the replacement heads aren't interchangeable, I was hoping, but oh well. Too early to give it a great review as it's only the first day, but the vapor, th and flavor are fantastic (not too surprising as I'm not getting any plastic in there). Will post again if I have any problems, but it looks pretty good at this point. Very stylish look to it as well.

Day two update:

I've been vaping with this device exclusively since I got it yesterday, I've topped off the tank three times now (from about 2.1ml to ~3ml) with MBV Banana Split. No tank degradation (that I can see), I do wish that they'd lose the silver metal case, and have a clear pyrex tank. No dry hits, gurgling, burnt taste, light or airy draw, loss of vapor or flavor, absolutely no change so far. I noticed that I've been doing the old tip and swirl as it approaches 2ml (I think that I'm just doing that automatically at this point using mainly vivi nova's for over a month now)

One more thing, the 510 connections on this device have 2 little springs on the bottom. At first, I found that annoying as you can't stand them up on your desk, but they're really good at preventing over-tightening. As you screw them onto your battery they come to a complete stop when they're securely fastened. Just another useful feature that I haven't seen before...

Picked one of these up at Plumes, my local brick & mortar shop. I've used this about a week now and I like it mated to an X6 mod.

Vaping a 80/20 PG:VG blend at stock 2.4ohm 3.8volts this thing makes plenty of vapor and has a nice firm draw (not too tight). It is a heavy device because of the glass, so swapping this for a standard Vivi Nova will change the balance. The feel of the tank is solid and it takes pocket abuse well. Threads are smooth and tight all around and seals tolerate all manner of juice. Filling to the joint of the atomizer with the center post measured 3ml doubling the capacity over my usual CE4 v2.0's. Overall a great addition to my collection.

Couple things worth noting:

1) The metal sleeve holds two aluminum end caps that seal the glass cylinder. Check that the end caps are fully seated in the metal tube or the seals will leak. I just had to place the cylinder on a hard surface and press with a block of wood to ensure they were seated.
The seals in the top and base pieces should be checked to ensure they are seated correctly. One of mine was twisted and was easily seated properly. Overall not perfect, but not too bad for mass production. A little careful inspection will ensure satisfaction from first vape.

2) The center post is the same as the newer Smok Vision CE4 V2.0's. It has a spring loaded contact in the attachment thread and is drilled through rather than side holes. The atomizer is also the newer Smok CE4 V2.0 style with high tip, guard ring and non-slotted base. Mine came with a 2.4ohm coil. Using cheap heads without the inner ring near the wick will cause leaks. Best to stick with Smok or Vision heads.

3) The top piece will take 510 drip tips, be aware it is tapered chrome. Some metal drip tips may fit loosely depending on their tolerance. All of my plastic tips fit perfectly.
