I'm heading to Vancouver next week and am thinking about heading to Bellingham to check out a real bricks and mortar ecig store. What is it like bringing nic juice back over the Peace Arch? Do you claim it, are there any problems with doing so? I'd only be going for the afternoon, so would I have to pay duty? What amount is ok to bring back? What about bringing hardware back?

It's been years since I crossed into the states (last time I went, we only needed a driver's licence, didn't need to have a passport) so I'd be interested in hearing anyone's experiences. Thanks.

Hi mokai,

I have good news and bad news. First the bad news. It's illegal to bring nic juice into Canada.... in fact, it's controlled here, so vendors need our cooperation to remain so! I'd say it's not worth the risk trying to bring it over the border. At best, you'll be detained and lose your juice..... at worst? Well I don't think they'll try to fine or charge you, but I wouldn't want to find out.

But now for the good news! There is no issue with equipment.

And the better news yet?... If you want to visit a brick and mortar, there's no need to cross the 49th parallel. We have a few within easy range. Check your Private Messages for more info ;)

Thanks for the info tyger, I didn't know there were any stores there. We have very little here, no actual stores, a few places carry the cig-like ecigs. There's one very good website but the selection is limited and like there, nicotine can't be sold, although we can order in for personal use.

If you're here for the 9th there's also a meetup scheduled. I know it's not a B&M but there's usually 2 or 3 vendors there.

Thanks recidivus. Actually I'll be there for at least a month or two, so I do hope to make a couple of meets. Where is this one? I'll probably be on the island at that time, but will be back on the 11th and will be on the mainland for the most part after that.
