I'll keep that in mind when I begin my adventure. I was going to go today, but I can't seem to motivate myself to get dressed so maybe I'll save it for next week.
If you happen to find something really awesome in the Houston area that you'd give a rave review, I would definitely like to hear about it.

This post makes a very nice mental picture thank you! ;-) Im not Sure if Texas select Vapor has a retail shop but The owner Brett is a great guy I bet you could pay on line and just pick your stuff up if you contacted him. He is out of Conroe

Haha :p
I saw the website a couple days ago, but I couldn't tell by looking at it if there was an actual shop so I saved it for future reference. I order a lot of stuff from Value Vapor because the shipping is awesome fast. I might just check into seeing if I can do that though, I wouldn't mind having instant access to all my new tinker toys. Of course I can already hear my bank account whimpering "no, Dianna, no, get a second job insteaaaaaad"

My feelings exactly! As for outting them, well... Buzzzlove, I see you're also in TX, if you or anyone else reading this ever happen to be in Houston, AVOID Create-E-Cig located on Westheimer.
Westheimer? Outside the Beltway? That explains a lot :p
(I used to live in Houston)

To play devil's advocate here:

There are always going to be shady dealers, online or not.

Obviously, a B&M shop is going to cost more than ANY online business (e-cig related or not).

True, that repairing an eGo battery (other than for personal use), is a waste of time - and I don't see how it is worth the trouble, but there are a few benefits to shopping locally.

1. Beginners can benefit from word of mouth from honest, knowledgeable salesmen. Some (I dare say the majority of the of them) actually care about their customers and want to inform them, rather than deceive them.

2. If something is defective, a good shop will replace it free of charge or at least figure out what you are doing wrong. This beats having to ship back a defective product or having an online retailer tell you "tough luck"

I buy online, AND shop locally.

I now do all my B&M business with Electronic Cigs on Grandparkway. They were/are Elixir, but opened the B&M around June. They have been great to me, and their juice is really good. They are changing hours, or have already, to Monday through Friday, closed on weekends.

Send me a PM, and I will send their link and contact information. I do not want to here, in case it violates any rules. ANd no, I am not associated with them in any way other than a happy customer, and have referred them to people to whom I have spoken in Houston.

Buzzlove,

I haven't done business with Texas Select, but keep meaning to give them a shot. If you can pick things up from them direct, I will keep that in mind. I pass close to them on my travels to Oklahoma- Conroe may be part of Houston, but it is a heck of a drive from the West side where I am- I live about 15 min from Electronic Cigarettes, and there is a Starbuck's on the way.

I spend a great deal of time around San Antonio- we have a yard in Pearsall. I pass through San Antonio about every other week. I went to Thanks For Vaping, Friday, on my way back to Houston... Took an extra hour to make the loop. Let me know what else is in SA.

OP,

There is a place on West___mer that I will never go to again. I bought some juice there on my last visit about three months back that was made by a new employee on their first day... I asked for it to be checked, to no avail. It tasted like 48ml nic, and turned to what looks like thick BLACK coffee after two days. Their other juice was good, but I completely lost confidence.

Finally decided to read this thread. It isn't about shops that are under a few trees?

Though I have not had this experience here some advice. Start asking questions, inspect the merchandise thoroughly. If the owner is making any kind of adjustments, modifications or repair and is reselling them then he is not only hurting himself cause that clearly screws with HIS warranty from the manufacturer but by law he has to mark them REFURBISHED to resell them.

Advice: shop on line.

The legality of it was my first thought when reading the OP.

This thread here is another reason I deal in co-ops for all my vaping gear. I've managed to totally equip both my wife and I in genuine gear and in the 5 months of vaping I've had only 1 issue and that was when I was noob and bought off a online vendor and was bait and switched with some SMOK batteries. Now I just buy juice from online vendors not any gear what so ever.
I read every day in FB and other social means people who been taken by shady fly-by-night vendors and feel kinda sorry for them. The ecig industry is plagued with knockoffs, substandard, no quality control and one time cash grab vendors. Knowledgge is your only means of defence from getting taken.
Gear should have the namebrand's logo either etched like kanger or stamped on the bottom of the battery like joytech, if there is no branding then chances are your buying a knockoff.
Take a good look at websites pictures because thats how they bait and switch and be sure what you got in the mail is really what its suppose to be.
