Well, what's it been, over a week now with the vv? I am using some 2.5Ω KR808 cartos, and KBV RY4 that I had ordered with extra flavoring. I am over halfway thru a 30ml bottle and I think the flavors are really coming thru. This whole s/u is just kickin ....! If you ain't got a vv yet, you don't know what you're missing.

Howdy all, I got a airline trip comin up and was wondering if anyone had had any trouble with security carrying Steve's FBM? After all, they really do look like a wireless detonator. Any suggestion, I prefer NO explanation too ANY confrontation. Thanks for da advice!

put the batteries in your bag and the box in your pocket

Been using my 5v about a day now and with the carto all soaked and broken in it's vaping like a champ. As others have noted, he ships rocket fast but I got mine with an extra quickness cuz i'm in cali. Will prolly post some pics in a day or two cuz I got a pretty little tank comin' in the mail and a few cosmetic additions lol.

I will be the last to complain about Steve's work or the quality of the box mods, but...

It's a good thing he sent me a backup 3.7 box when he replaced one that had gone south. I am now down to one working 3.7 volt box; one of the two he sent me failed within two hours' use. It's not a battery problem either, as I rotated in working batteries to test to see if that was the cause of the failure.

Steve *does* stand behind every box he makes and sells, but I think he and I agree that the sliding master switches are most likely the cause of my failures. I no longer even shut the thing off; I just try to carry it in such a way that I avoid "pocket firing," and leave that little master slide switch alone. In fact, when I order my next 3.7 box from Steve, I'm going to request that that switch simply be omitted.

Again, I am not trying to say that the boxes are bad, proorly made or anything like that. I have simply had a run of bad luck with the 3.7 volt models, having had three of the boxes I've owned fail out of 4.

And it's a bummer too. One of the boxes that I had that failed was the white box with the color-changing LED mounted inside instead of through a hole in the case. The whole face of the box lit up when vaping; a very *cool* effect.

On the plus side, my 5 volt box is perfect, and I use it at least 8 hours/week, probably a lot more. It just keeps chugging along, and I've dropped it, stepped on it, sat on it....pretty much everything except shot it at close range with a high caliber hand gun. LOL The thing is built like a brick house.

Just my two puffs worth. I still think that for the money, Steve builds the best value in mods.

wow, that's a shame, ciego. I haven't had any issues with the slider switch on the VV box i got from Steve, and it's been crammed in pockets, sat on, dropped on concrete, and licked by dogs....it's great that Steve stands behind his stuff in case something goes wrong.
Steve, I'm happy to report that your mods are St. Bernard-proof :)

Hey Ciego, tell me which LED colors you would like and I will ship two more out to ya. PM me your address too.

Its hard to say what is going wrong without looking at them, but if you feel like you would like to ship a couple of the non working ones back to me, I could investigate what is going on.

I am certain it is nothing you are doing, as you are a veteran vaper, so I would love to take a look at them. i am very lucky that the return rate is so low. I have yet to turn down a repair request and I have been open for 5 months, and have shipped well over 100 mods.

See? This is why I love dealing with Steve! Look at the posting times between my complaint and his response. Now *that's* service.

As far as me being a veteran vaper....that's kind of exagerrating. I've only been at this since November 2010. I will certainly send you the malfunctioning boxes: PM me with an address. As far as replacing the bad ones in advance, I'd rather we take a look to make sure it's not my error...which it *might* be.

Funny story. My wife has a little bit of eyesight, in fact a bit more than I do, and she's very sensitive to light when she's trying to sleep. The other night she had gone to bed. I was in the next room with the door between standing open, but I was still about 20 feet from her, and her eyes were closed.

I fired up the working 3.7 v. mod with the bright-... green LED. She jumped up out of bed and hollered at me to turn off the lights...then realized she was sitting in the dark. Confused the dickens out of her, until she pushed the button on the mod. "That is the brightest LED I have ever seen. Go vape in the kitchen."

Ah, married life. LOL

My 5v is in the drawer since I got got the VV. You are correct about the green LED. (Laser Eye Damage)

I've got a question for the veterans here. Got my first order of KBV juice the other day. I'm using cartos but the juice is so thick that it does not soak in. I can't complain about the flavor but having to top off every few minutes is a pita. Am I doing something wrong or missing some trick.

The first fill is always the most time consuming. I give it a good twenty minutes once the carto appears saturated. Subsequent fills seem to soak in a lot faster. Their standard VG is 60%, so naturally that is going to be a lot thicker than a higher PG liquid. I order mine at 70%PG and find that to be a lot easier to fill boge cartos, than their standard mix.

Dex, I second what Godzilla says. One thing that helps a lot is to do the Terran Spin, where you put the carto connector-down into a narrow cloth bag (like a KR808D-1 battery bag) and then spin it to centrifuge the juice down toward the connector end/coil. Also, using a 16 or larger gauge syringe to fill the carto will really help.

I just filled 3 cartos, 2 KR808 and one 510 mega with KBV Caramel Cappuccino (60% VG/40%PG) with not a single drop wasted and without any trouble at all. In fact, I'm vaping it now on one of Steve's 5 volt creations....aw crap! Hilarious. Just as I was typing that, my batteries conked out. LOL Ah well...time to recharge. I'll use an Ego in the meantime. Good juice!

Me again, Say, lilHurricane, I noticed you posted you were using the 510 CE2 Clearomizers XL Rev 5's. I have been interested in those. Can you tell me where you got them, you probably already found the best price! Anything more to say about them? Have you modified them at all or pulled out that little plastic ring they mention in the videos?

Hiya Llarz, sorry..just caught up here.. I found them at My Vapor Store

No modding, just out of the wrapper usage. That and a safety pin to remove the inner rings. I've found I can direct drip with them out..or put them back in with the standard tip for when I'm mobile. I like options ;)

When the rings are in and it's halfway empty (or half full, if you prefer)..a lil tip to the side keeps the wicks wet and the ceramic cup full. I've read a lot of mixed reviews and decided I've either been very fortunate, or my FBM is sprinkled wth magic dust..because they've worked excellent consistently for me. Maybe a lil of both :)

Pics are in my profile album...somewhere

3.0Ω/ohm on the 5V is heaven.

Try putting the joose in with a syringe, that might help you. Then maybe you wil be able to just put the drops in after that.

The initial fill hasn't been a problem, it's adding later that is. No more than 2 drops cause it will just sit on top and not soak in. I think the 70/30 is the way I need to go. I've been dripping this at home but at work I'm behind the wheel alot and cartos are more convenient. Just to clarify I was not knocking this stuff. Some of the best I've ever tried and want more.
