I have ten Triton tanks and now four of those have all had the same minor but massively annoying hardware failure: The black drip tip separates from the threading piece its glued to. Should be as simple as gluing these back together but I won't take any chance of breathing super glue or another glue that is capable of binding metal to plastic should the heat of the unit melt these too. Anyone else run into this problem? Find a safe fix? Halo should absolutely look into this.

I had the exact same issue last week when I went to top it off and the mouthpiece separated from the threading. It left what looked like glue crumbs in the top of my tank so I trashed the entire tank (and the 2 ml of juice inside) just to play it safe. I have only had this experience on one of the three triton tanks I've used. But I'll be sure to hold on to the good tips for as long as possible incase I encounter this again.

As I expected and as I predicted about one month ago! PERIOD! A friends just snapped off. Not for me yet because I'm so gentle and only a snug fit. Keep the threads clean and this may help. I source the solution in the following thread but got taken to task in a polite way but that wont stop me. They also make a plastic tip along with the aluminum one. I have not ordered yet but plan to. I think it's my last post in the following thread where I link and read the other posts please:

The plot thickens and I might get banned so let me calm down and VAPE. Looks like HALO has changed the number of threads on the triton tank tip. SIGNIFICANTLY MORE THREADS! Carefully look at this pic with the original and used drip tip on the right and a never used drip tip on the left.

Thank you so much for informing us and your anticipated "make good" :)

I was so upset about the slip stream job and obviously more threads make the tip FAR LESS inclined to snap off that I forgot to mention:

Did you read the other posts in my thread I linked to. Yes

Read this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/halo/401641-triton-tanks-3.html

OK, I found some original fewer thread brand new Kanger T2 tanks which also had the same problem and the tips work fine on either device because yours truly switched and installed. Obviously, that's the reason Kanger saw fit to offer a FAR BETTER tip as in more threads in the new aluminum or plastic as noted.

Thank you Halo. Who due I send my PO to? LOL :)

I'm not sure m following you, SeniorBoy. Are you saying the new tanks have more or less threads? The tanks that came with my starter kit had more threads. 2+ months and several tanks later, all replacement tanks have had less threads.

I had the same issue as the op a while back. I posted about it somewhere and everyone figuratively looked at me like I had 3 heads. It only happened on one out of about 8 tanks I've owned and used so far. I've only thrown out 2 other tanks, but I kept those tips as a backup.

This isn't my issue with the tanks lately. New thread coming soon...

JR, let me please try and clarify my experience. About a month ago I started with the Triton tanks. I've ordered these tanks in three occasions. When I receive the tanks I just toss them into storage and never break the plastic seal so I can't tell you exactly when I received the defective tips and the fixed/more threads tips. They all just get mixed together in my storage box.

I currently have a total of 11 Tips/tanks. Eight are in use and all 8 have the defective tip which is the one on the right in my pic. Of the 3 remaining tips I have, two of these are the fixed tips with more threads and one is the defective tip. Like I said before, I can't tell you when I received each tip/tank so I have no clue if they are new tips or old tips BUT my starter kit had the defective tips since those are the first ones I deployed out of the box. That much I remember.

I hope this clarifies things for you. I'm not a happy camper and would hope that Halo would find a way to make good since my sense of the issue from what I read from others is that they are STILL shipping defective tips. I'm sure I will order some more tanks BUT I refuse to accept a defective tip in all my future orders so I will break the seal and inspect. Finally, Kanger had a very good reasons for retooling and making better tips and we can see some examples of why in this thread and yours.

HTH
:)

The short threads aren't a defect, as far as I know. I think the design changed to the short threads I order to address issues with the longer threaded tanks. My original 2 tanks included in my starter kit came with longer threaded tips, and every tank I've ordered since (about 8 or so) came with the shorter threaded tips.

I had the same threads coming off issue on one tank. It was the longer threaded tip.

Is it possible the longer threaded tips came with your starter kit, and the shorter ones were on replacement tanks too? Did you or your friend's thread issue involve the short or long threads?

Again, I don't think the issue is/was with the short threaded tips. Just reporting my experience.

Hi All,

We're looking into this and will be speaking with the factory sometime this week about some possible changes. I'll keep you as updated as I can!

Thank you. I just had it happen again today to the only tank I brought to work with me. This one seemed to split right up the plastic seam. Juice drained everywhere and like the previous ones, the metal component separated from the plastic mouthpiece.

My original tips from the starter kit and first order of tanks did have the longer threads. My most recent order of tanks now have shorter threads. Not an issue as long as there is no leaking, which there is not.

One of my longer thread tips did break and I figured it was me over tightening so I don't tighten too much now. Just snug. Knock on wood, haven't broken another tip yet.

Maybe Halo can supply the aluminum ones on their site as an accessory. I'd buy a few.

I just had this happen on my blue one. I got it back on there, and it doesn't seem to be leaking. Thanks for the links to the aluminum tips though, I think I will be ordering some of those, or waiting until/if they offer them in anodized colors.

Quick tip for Cinder - If Kanger could make custom halo branded anodized tips for the Triton tanks, I would buy them, at least a few purple and green ones... =)

In the interest of full disclosure and respectful comments I have some additional information on this tip:

I believe this design flaw originates at the Kanger factory and also occurs in the Kanger T2 which the Triton tank is based on. I recently received 6 Kanger T2 tanks and inspected ever single one VERY closely. Three had the defective small number of threads tip and three had the improved tip with significantly more threads. All were black plastic. I also recently received 5 Triton tanks and two were the improved larger number of threads and three were the defective tips. Finally, I am happy to report that Atomizer JuiceMate XL-Kanger T2 - REPLACEMENT MOUTHPIECE TIPS! carries the replacement tips you need at an outstanding price! They work great on a Triton or T2 tank. I have 25 of them! :)

I had this happen on my Triton Tank, which has gotten some heavy use. I didn't see anything that looked like glue-- looked to me like the plastic mouthpiece was attached to the threads with a simple friction mechanism that fitted in, and came loose when lubricated with the e-juice. It didn't leak, just came loose when I unscrewed it to refill. I cleaned them off, pressed them back together, and everything's been fine since (mine were the wider threaded version, btw). Annoying, but not a fatal flaw for me.

The anodized tips look cool though-- the fewer pieces the better, in my book.

I just orders 6 plastic and 6 aluminum ones to try. I figured at a buck each why not try them. I am a bit worried about heat and my teeth with the aluminum ones so we shall see. With a fresh charge on my triton I can kind of burn my lips a bit even with the plastic ones.

The mouthpiece on my blue tank has just gotten worse. I had it seated back on there pretty good, but now it seems to come off every other time I try to fill it. This is my Torque tank, that will not do!!!

REALLY wish I could find some colored tips. I saw some from Discount Vapors, but they looked weird to me, not tapered like the stock ones. Captivape has some nice ones for 5 bucks, but only silver, red, black, and blue. Of course, out of stock in blue. Ergh.
