This is just a quick post to quash a rumour that is being circulated by one of the eliquid makers.
They claim, "The world's first eliquid made with pharmaceutical grade nicotine" and go on to state
that they were founded in July 2009.

Fact: Intellicig sold their first bottle of ECOpure online on the 6th April 2009,
a good 3 months before the other company was even founded.

This company has even accused us of lying about our ingredients.

Fact: The nicotine we have used from the very early development stages in
2008 was and still is pharmaceutical grade - in fact from the same supplier
who provides the nicotine for virtually all of the NRT products in the UK.
That's why it was easy to spot the labels on the bottles of pure nicotine, a
highly toxic poison, in a photo of this other company's premises on their website.

Fact: Our nicotine, even the empty bottles, is kept locked securely in a
designated poisons cabinet in our laboratory, but if any of our customers
requires proof of origin we can oblige.

It was horrifying to say the least to see that the company who falsely claims
"The world's first eliquid made with pharmaceutical grade nicotine" has bottles
of that pure nicotine stored high on a shelf alongside some books - the bottles even
look to be leaning somewhat. If that is their idea of Good Laboratory Practice then
it explains why there is such a demand from the authorities for regulation of the industry.

Thanks.
John.

While the word "misleading" has been brought up...

It would seem that a certain supplier also has branded their products and product labels with "Pharmacopoeia Grade". To the best of my knowledge no such standard exists, within the UK BP (British Pharmacopoeia) and Ph Eur (European Pharmacopoeia) are the two Pharmacopoeia followed.

As there is no "Pharmacopoeia grade" it would seem quite misleading to me as to what "grade" these liquids conform to.

Carrying out a quick google search it is evident who has coined this term, it is occasionally used in the US which generally refers to USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) but again without stating which Pharmacopoeia it conforms to, it is misleading!
