Queries from a noob

Hey Guys.

Ran into a couple of issues and not getting great answers from my local shop...

I recently ditched the Spinner and upgraded to the Z-Max. In addition I added a dual coil Vivi Nova to the mix as well. I have noticed that a couple times a day while vaping I get absolutely nothing from a draw. It seems as there is no power at all. Then on the next draw it will be fine. In addition, last night the same thing happened but did not correct itself. I thought maybe I burnt out a coil or something. I set the unit aside and later tried it again. It hit like a champ. Does this sound like a problem with the coil or something with the Z-Max? The tank in question is the dual coil Vivi. Pretty sure it was the 1.5 ohm head. I had the Z-Max set on 8 watts.

How many miles on the ViVi? If you're hitting a dark juice, the wicks can gunk up and begin to take more time to saturate. The coils are disposable and often are only good for a week of regular use. I used to kill 'em 3 days.

Check the alignment of the silicone cap over the coil. If it's down too tight it can choke off the wicks.

Search ECF for info about cleaning with alcohol, and dry burns.

This is the stuff that eventually makes ppl switch to RBA's.

My gusss is the head is not screwed on enough. It happened a lot to me when I was using them

I don't much about the Zmax, but I've had troubles with the novas (and most of the top coil devices, for that matter). Sometimes they don't wick worth a snot, sometimes they're the best topper you can get. They always just seem hit or miss for me (usually more on the miss side).

I swapped to some protanks and EVODs after that, and never really had any issues with them. Maybe see if your shop carries some EVODs and try those? the Bottom Coil might work for you better. (I'm not recommending the protank just yet, as they're pricier, and well, if you don't like the EVODs, I doubt you'd like the protank)

One though, is that maybe when you're getting zero draw (with nothing at all- no burnt oh my god taste or the flavor of you liquid), make sure that the device is seated enough to make a good contact... I know it sounds simple, but sometimes tube mods can be finicky like that.
