Quest: The perfect hoagie roll recipe

Hello ladies! I am on a quest to find the perfect hoagie roll recipe. I've tried 3 different recipes (and have tweaked them) to no avail . I am looking for a sweet, soft roll like the type that I experienced when I was in PA during the holidays. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

My perfect hoagie recipe involves a trip to the bakery. I'm not any help when it comes to baking. At our altitude, almost nothing bakes how it should so I don't even try anymore. Sorry, not much help.

I was a baker but we didn't do hoagie rolls! Sorry. My favorite roll..though no a hoagie is hawaiian bread. I love that stuff!

What's a 'hoagie' anyway? I've HEARD of them, (on the Cosby Show! lol), but I've never seen one...sorry, Scotland, remember?

Speaking of rolls, if anyone has a great recipe for Yeast Rolls I'd love to have it. I love them, but only get them when we go to our fav steak restaurant, which isn't very often.

thanks ladies, for all your input! i've found a few recipes and have modified them .. i've come close but still haven't nailed it. **sigh** the boyfriend is enjoying the job of taste testing though - he has decided he would rather have home made bread from now on ..
