Hello all,

Recently I made the purchase of the njoy NPRO starter kit (19.99) and I am very pleased with it. However I have been searching around and wanted to waste money and buy some different stuff so I had a question.

If I bought an adapter that allowed me to use either a 510 or a 901 battery with my 4081 cartomizers would I need to buy a new charger for the new battery? Or will my njoy NPRO charger work if I have an adapter to 4081 on a new battery?

I hope I asked this correctly.

Thanks

Welcome to ECF. Why buy a different battery? All my stuff is 510 connection but I have adapters to run any atty or carto.

I was looking for a battery that was manual and one of a different size and color. I have quite a few cartomizers for the 4081 and the adapters were only 1.99 so I figured grab an adapter with the new battery so I can use them up.

So would the 4081 charger work on a different battery with an adapter?

Hi Wakefulpanda.

The only sound advice is that -if you get a new battery type- you'll get the corresponding charging unit.

A way to bypass this is to get a PT, i.e. you charge the unit via the computer USB port. I have an eGo and a Tornado PT, and haven't had any problems... Some have experienced that the USP port has "fried" due to overload.

Most eGo/Riva/Tornado PT's (510) holds the same charge as a standard battery. I think to recall that some PT's are PT only, and these just may be prone to "fry" the USB port, since they are 3.7V or even 5V and if when with a LR atty, the current draw is too strong.

Good luck.
