Not exactly sure what "Very Hot" means to you but any change in the temperature or time it takes a battery to charge is usualy not a good sign. If your other batteries don't get hot or if there charging time hasn't changed then it probably isn't your charger.

batteries don't last forever and it just might be that your battery is getting ready to release the Magic Smoke and pass on to a far better place.

I would get another battery on order and think about retiring that battery ASAP. batteries can catch fire you know.

If you want to try charging it one more time I would proceed with caution: After attaching the battery and plugging the charger in, if the battery button doesn't flash several times and then go out (as per normal) I wouldn't proceed any further. It may be internally shorted.

Did the charger behave normally the last time you tried charging that battery? Did the status LED on the charger do anything weird? It should just go right to steady red.
