So for Christmas this year my lovely fiancée is getting me a Kato Hammer clone as my first mechanical mod. My question is about the safety (or lack there of if applicable) of a Efest 800 Mah 1830 button top in the afore mentioned mechanical mod. Ideally I would like to run a .7-1.0 ohm set up on this device with a kayfun clone. (Rocket) So please enlighten me and help me stay safe with my new Hammer :)

That video was VERY helpful. Thank you! I downloaded that app and now I know that I can run a ~0.9 ohm coil safely.

relatively safely yes. but with out a fuse or circuit breaker, something goes wrong like the coil snaps and shorts out or if the coil sags a bit and the wraps touch one another you could exceed the recommend continuous amp rating and the battery could vent. personally i run coils at 1.0 ohm with out a fuse on my 18650 mod and use only IMR batteries because like the guy says they are safer than a protected cobalt Li.
