So today I purchased 2 Sony US18650VTC3 High drain batteries that has a max continuous discharge of 30amps. I got this because I believe it's safer since the coils that i'm building for my rebuildables are drawing around 8 amps. That gives me enough room. However, I then thought to myself, if this is safer than other batteries why is it that people still buy batteries that have a lower amp cont./pulse discharge? Is there a huge difference in performance? Hope this makes sense.

Did you really mean that you are vaping at 8 amps? At even 3 V, this is 24 watts! I may be wrong, but I think that this is well out of the range that anyone here would say is safe. The heartiest button switches are only rated to about 5 amps.

I suggest posting to the modding forum and see what others say.
