Question about battery direction

So I've been looking at many box mods, both commercial and DIY. Is there a reason why the positive battery contact is put on the bottom? When the battery is placed it is upside down...

I just want to make sure that I have my contacts placed correctly if there is a specific reason for doing this...

Pointed down you have the venting directed away from your face. The vent holes are usually down there too for much the same reason.
