I had been told here on ecf that the variety pack of cartos I received with my Blu starter kit was probably stale, but If I order cartos from the site that they will come fresh.

I've found alternatives and won't be buying Blu cartos, but in the case that I am REALLY in need, the Walgreens down the street sells Blu cartos and I figured I could just stop by there and grab a pack if I was in a bind.

If I do end up going to Walgreens and buying cartos, is there a chance that they will be stale? I would want to guess not since the packs of cartos probably get bought more than full starter kits so the stock gets refreshed... I'm guessing thats why the starter kit cartos are stale...

Does anyone know if the packs of cartos come stale too if bought in Walgreens?

Thanks

Cartos don't dry out. Liquid stays good in sealed packaging for a year or more. Never really heard anyone complain about "stale" proprietary cartos before. Maybe you just didn't like the flavor of the cartos that came with your kit.

Well I liked all the flavors except cherry, grew to like the tobacco but hated it at first. But in my first thread here a member told me that my cartos were probably stale. I can't tell if they are or aren't because its my first pack... but I considered the fact that it may be true and I didn't want to spend money on stale cartos if thats the case.

But if they can't get stale all is well! I didn't think they tasted too bad, I just assumed he was right.

Be wary of any info you receive here- not suspicious, just wary. When I first began I was told certain things. I always backed that info with further research. After awhile I had a mental list of those that posted accurate info and could be trusted. Cartos don't go stale BUT, depending on how they're stored, certain ingredients may separate slightly because they are diff viscosity.

I did okay with Walgreens. In a "pinch", that's where I'd go. And I dunno if "stale" is the right term or not (seeing Vapoor's post lower down) but I picked up a pack of cartos at a convenience store once (and only once) and it was mostly... junk. Something went wrong. Dunno about Walgreens up there but the one I use is pretty easy to deal with if you bring something back as defective and want an exchange.

Best reason to order off Blu's site is if you order at least four packs of cartos, they discount. I think down to $9.60 each? Yeah, there it is. That's the right price. Cheaper than you can get in a brick and mortar definitely. Walgreens here sells them for about $15 each.

Interesting. I took people at their word on that one but it was because I ran into one bad batch of Blu cartos from a convenience store. "Stale" seemed to kind of make sense? Something went awry but dunno what it was. At least a good brick and mortar that'll let you exchange is nice. Bad batches do happen. Dunno.

Boy but the cartos outta that pack were vile. Something went very, very wrong...

It could very well be they were laying on their side for awhile and the flavoring separated form the PG/ VG. Cuz VG is thicker it could also separate. I've had bottles of juice that sat for 2 weeks and I could see the separation of the ingredients with the flavoring sinking to the bottom. Many that don't shake their bottles before dripping into their cartos, etc wonder why the flavor/ vape is strange when they get to the bottom.

Just an update to anyone interested, I just purchased my first extra Blu cartomizer pack, so the first ones I would be vaping that didn't come from the starter kit...

Now granted it is a different flavor, but just the aroma of the vapor after I exhaled made my roommate come into the room I was in, that never happened. And it also tastes way better.

I don't think that the flavor I got is really just THAt much better. There had to have been something wrong with what I had in the starter kit because none of those cartos produced the vapor, flavor, or aroma that these have, or even came close.

at my walgreens i bought tobacco and vanilla...becuase thats what my friend was vaping and i wanted to see what he was going through trying to quit smokeing...i did not like the tobacco at first either to me it was like a weak coffe kinda flavor however i kinda like vaping bitter kinda flavors...i havnt been off cigs very long :( anyway the vanilla was kinda good but made me cough...they did seem like something was off from them tho...im not sure ...just old or to weak it just wasnt right...thats all i know

Bad batch? Blu's quality control is pretty uneven from what I've seen. The liquids are made by Johnson Creek. I have some sampler bottles from them and they're not bad. Not doing cartwheels but a couple are pretty good. Then again, my taste is acting... weird. I did read sometime yesterday that some folk claim after quitting tobacco cigs, their sense of taste can "go out" sometimes. Dunno about that but it wouldn't surprise me. So I'm not a good judge of taste right now. Since sometime yesterday, I don't get much flavor out of any vapor.

By the way, it's cheaper to order the packs directly from Blu. They're $9.60 each if you order 4 or more at a time. Cheaper than brick and mortars...

I guess stale is actually the right word.
I've never had store bought blu cartridges.
Walgreens doesn't sell the 100 ones. It's cheaper & easier to buy them off the site. Shipping is free when they finally process. Blu has gotten better with turnaround time.

One of my friends has an original kit.
The same thing happened to him. He said his flavors were all mixed up and stale. Hope you enjoy your stuff from Jet. I've used up all of my blu points. So I never need to order from blu again.

Bought the Volcano PCC for $11 shipped.
It will be perfect for the Jet batteries & Volcano cartos.
I might as well vape them, even though they totally suck!

While were on the subject of small 510's and such, I really want to try the V2 liquimax refillable carts... theyre 12 bucks for 3 and you can refill them like 50 times. Its a beta product, and for some reason I've been itching to try them. I just got a vision nano which does the same, but this looks like a hybrid between the nano and a normal cart and I really just want to get my hands on a pack before they pull em.

But v2's are 808's, right? should I order an adapter so i can use the liquimax on a 510 or would it be worth it to just buy a v2 bat and charger so I have an 808 around just for the hell of having an actual 808/backup?

Although I am not sure that they are actually "stale", that is a good description of some of the blu carts that I've used. Unlike many in this forum, I still "like" blu, but the batteries just were taking too much of a beating from a 2 pack a day smoker. I still use my blu on occasion however, both because I like the flavors (particularly vanilla), and they are so darn small that sometimes I prefer taking them out with me.

I have noticed that all blu flavors (including tobacco) are pretty sweet for the most part and likely high in sugar/sweetener content which might account for some flavor migration, plus, they are not as well sealed as other cartomizers that I use. The last pack of vanilla cartos that I had, included one that was downright "rancid-tasting", beyond vaping at all. It was the first truly bad carto that I had with blu, but definitely some seem stronger/fresher/tastier than others.

I would just buy an adaptor.
Since you already have a backup kit.
V2 actually makes great adaptors.
I used them with my South Beach bats. They're only $3 for two.

alright thanks. Yeah I was about to order them last night but I'd have to wait 10 days cuz theyre waiting for a re stock of the 510 ones.
