Hi all! Stupid question from a re-newbie (I bought a DSE401 over a year ago to try to quit smoking but it was almost worthless). I just received a TW Tornado a bit ago which is also my first model using 510 carts/attys. I notice that the atty bridge makes an indentation into the cart filler which only concerns me because I use the straw mod (really helps!) and I don't know if the bridge gets hot enough to melt it. I never saw and indention on the filler on my old 401 or my Toker 1 (from Vapor Tokers) which I think uses the 801 carts so I'm not sure if this is normal. Thanks in advance for the help!:toast:

Hi,
Welcome to ECF Forum..
First, the bridge doesn't get hot. It just wicks the liquid from the filler to the coil which is what gets hot. You have to line the cart up with the way the bridge is inside the atty.
If you notice that the 510 cart has two flat sides? Those sides have to line up with the inside of the atty, look inside and you will see the bridge go from half circle to another in the middle is like a box shape that actually is the coil.
like this --> (_) now where the bottom line is in hat pic I have is suppose to be the flat side of the atty inside. (top and bottom) But I can only do one part.. lol.. Look @ the cart and line it up with the way that pic is.. this way the "opened" area of heat won't melt the cart.. Yes the filler will get brown or burnt like, but that just means that you are taking a long drag.. the drag should be about 5 seconds, longer than that and then you might 'melt' a little of filler.

Hope this helpped..

Thanks for the replies! I'm using the straw cut about 1 to 1.5 mm back from the end of the cart (using Fluval for filler). It seems like the bridge is just barely touching the edge of the straw because I can see it scuffed a bit. I guess I need to just cut it back (or at an angle) a little more. Like I said, I was just wondering because the 401 and the 801 carts didn't seem to get near as much contact with the bridge as the 501 carts. Thanks again for the help.
