I have a couple more questions (big suprise-lol) about charging the battery in the car. Anyways, from what ive read isn't a car charger for you e-cig a bad idea? As I have learned, you want to let the battery charge untill it is completly full correct? So, unless you are on a trip- or in the car for atleast an hour wouldn't the car charger be a dumb idea unless you knew that your car ride would be enough time to completly charge the battery.

Now here is the real question I have. I am not really familar with the USB pass-through so im not sure if this is possible or makes sense, but i'll ask anyways. If I could find a cigarette car charger that accepts a USB port (im sure you find one somewhere) is it possible to use the USB pass-though in the car while driving? I think in my case a USB passthrough would be more beneficial for me if I could use it for the car application rather than on my PC at work (which I would still use anways). So this way whenever im in the car I would not be using any batteries and have the USB passthrough hooked up to the cig lighter and could vape away.

What do you think? Is it possible or practical?

Thanks!!!!

Lithium batteries do not have cell memory. There is no need for the battery to be at full charge when first purchased or durring any usage in time.

Your good if you car ride is only five minutes and the battery never received a full charge. I have no idea why manufacturers/suppliers or people say to provide an initial charge of 8 hours or what ever...that is total B.S.

Google lithium charging method or lithium cell memory/effect if you doubt my info.

Li-ion's do burden digital memory. This is associated to the device, and the device is most commonly the phone or even an ipod.

Those devices do require the battery to gain a full charge for the circuitry to recognize what the full charge of the battery is. The battery itself is unaffected by digital memory. Digital memory is rectifiable, cell memory is not. Ni-cad suffers cell memory, digital memory gets confused with this and since most devices now use lithiums, well if obvious that people think that lithiums also suffer memory effect.

As for the usb pass thru, yes. Find a usb cigarette adapter that is atleast 5v 1 amp. Although most commercial usb pass thru's have a 3.7v restrictor in it, meaning it won't allow more than 3.7 to the atty. You should get an adaptor to atleast match what most computers put out through the usb port...actually it's usually 5v .5 milliamps...but, go with 1amp rating or better, just incase one day you decide you'd like to make your own.

dedmon- If you do't mind I'd like you to take a look at these specs I found on ebay for usb cig ligther adaptors and give me your opinion on which one would be the best for a usb pass-through and mobile battery charging. I don't know much about these power ratings:

btw i just copied and pasted these specs froum a few different options

1. rating: Output: DC 5.0V±5% max: Max: 1000mA (1amp correct?)
2. This one is a dual input-rating: Output Voltage: Vout: 5.0V, Range: 5.0 - 5.6V, Vpp: 200mA max- Output Current (DC): 0 - 1.5A
3. rating:Output 5v 500mA

im think the dual usb adaptor is the one i want- how does the pweer specs look?

Thanks!

I got this one - dual usb - runs the passthru and PCC or two passthru's

Amazon.com: Belkin Dual USB Car Charger for iPod (Black): Electronics
5v/1-amp, 500Mah each

And found a dual usb wall plug rated 2 amps:

Amazon.com: SE-2USB: High Power Slim AC Wall Plug to 2 x 5V USB Adapter (Retractable US Plug): Everything Else

or:

High Power Slim AC Wall Chaeger with 2 USB Adapter, Foldable US Plug, BG-T01
