Thank you for the help. One last quick question if possible. If the charging light turns off indicating it is fully charged, will it continue to over charge if not removed from the USB?

well as the story goes

it won't continue to charge (overcharge protection)

but the battery will try to start to discharge,
if it is plugged in a tug-o-war effect takes place
try to discharge
try to be charged
try to discharge
try to be charged
try to discharge
try to be charged

li-ion doesn't like to be held against a wall
it does strange stuff to the internal chemistry
which does damage, effects longevity...

at least that's the way I understand from things I've read

so you can see why you hear two schools of thoughts
"sure it's safe to leave it plugged in"
"no, it's not good to continue charging"

:facepalm: the chicken or egg
