Question about clearomizer and cartridges

Hello all! After lurking for awhile I decided it was time to sign up & start posting. I quit smoking cigerettes January 1, 2013 & haven't had an analog since!! I first started out with blu's premium kit. Only because my husband got it for me for Xmas. I would buy a couple packages of their cartridges & when I finished vaping those I saved them & refilled them with my favorite e juice which is Johnson creeks island. After tons and tons of trouble with not only blu's products but their customer service as well I gave up on trying to make blu work for me. Way to much hassle. Lucky for me there is a wonderful little vaping store that just opened up right down the street from my work. So I went there and got a larger battery with a tank. The battery is black and says "vapor company" on it. I haven't been able to find any info on the Internet about the company or battery. I think they sell generic stuff there, not that that really matter to me. The first tank I recieved leaked all over the place. Not just from the top but the bottom, the sides, the little holes, just everywhere. I could not produce any vapor due to the e juice pooling ontop of the battery. After sopping up all the juice I could get it to work properly until it started pooling again. Which was only about 3 hits. So I brought it back & they exchanged everything for me. The new tank I got started doing the same thing but only leaking from around the bottom of the tank where it connects to the battery. I thought maybe my e juice is too thin & changing e juices seemed to fix that problem. With new e juice no more leakage & works perfectly.

Now here is where my questions come in. Even though I'm not leaking from this new tank, the e liquid ( evo's timber ) I seem to be going through a ton more e liquid using the tank then I ever did with refilling blu's cartridges. Johnson creeks sells 15 ml bottles and 1 of those bottles would last me more than week. They told me at the store I shouldn't have to fill my tank but once maybe twice a day depending on how much I vape. However that is not the case. It has numbers on the side of the tank for measurement & I filled it all the way till 2.0 ml mark. It says it holds up to 2.4 ml. after only about 20 mins of use the e liquid went from 2.0 ml down to 1.6 ml. I thought to myself wow that's a lot of e juice to go through after only 20 mins. I ended up topping off the tank 3 more times before I went to bed for the night & it was 6 pm when I started. yes i do tend to vape more while sitting in front of the tv or computer than i do when im out and about. but I wasn't vaping that much & when I noticed how far down the e juice went after such a short time, I cut back quite a bit because I love this flavor & only had a little of it left & needed some for work the next day. The timber e juice made by evo came in a 9 ml bottle. And after not even 2 full days, the juice is almost gone already. Is this normal for tank style cartridges or clearomizers? I'm not entirely sure which one I have but the guy at the store called it a clearomizer.

As of right now I'm getting by with using both blu and the tank set up I got at the vaping store. I would really like to get away with not using blu anymore but if its normal to go thru a lot more e juice using tanks I may have to stay with blu. I quit smoking cigerettes because i didnt want to spend 7 bucks every day or two on the pack of smokes. The evo e liquid is 8 bucks for a 9 ml bottle that was gone in less than 2 days. Basically the same amount of money spent if I were to buy cigarettes instead. So that's not going to help me. I really enjoy using the tank set up more. It has a way better hit, better flavor, more vapor & the battery life is excellent. The battery I only have to charge 1 time though out the day. If any if you expert vapors out there have any suggestions for me it would be so welcomed and greatly appreciated. I should also tell you I'm very picky when it comes to flavors of e juices. So far I can only vape constantly on the 2 flavors iv mentioned already. Every other flavor is ok, but I can only take a couple hits before having to switch back to either island or timber. Thank you so much ECF!!! I do love vaping!! It's my new obsession!

When i first started vaping a 30ml bottle would last me 5-6 weeks in a cigalike. i use about 3ml a day now with my kanger T3 clearomiser. I figure you are using a high propylene glycol (PG) ratio. It's thin stuff and vapes quicker than the alternative, which is vegetable glycerine (VG). VG is much thicker, produces more vapour. Maybe you should try changing the ratio of your liquids. Higher VG should make your liquid last longer. Different vendors sell different ratios. Shop around. You'll soon get the hang of it.

eg : 50%vg - 50%pg
60- 40
70 - 30
80 - 20
90 - 10
Or do what i do and use 100% vg. A lot of vendors will show what base liquids they use in their e liquids.

Ok first off, congratulations on the switch. And congratulations on finding ECF. Do a bit of reading here if you have the time.

Second off, I'd really like to help you but there are literally tons of tanks and clearomizers and so on and without knowing the product you are using, I don't think I can offer you any legitimate advice.

You mentioned that you were somewhat ok with Blu. There is a company that is well liked among ECFers called Smokeless Image. They can sell you a cigarette lookalike set up for about $50. It will be better quality than Blu and you will also get much better customer service. So if you'd like to go that route, I do recommend that.

As for the tank situation. If you can post a photo for us, that would help a great deal. We could also recommend a great number of tank-like alternatives for you, but I assume you want to try and make what you have work first.

Maybe you can post a photo or otherwise identify the tank for us?

Thank you all for your replies, that have been very helpful!!

I was actually able to find out the type of clearomizer I'm using. It's called a vision transparent clearomizer sometimes called a stardust.

@vape nerd, I'm only ok with using blu because that's what I have at the moment & what iv been making work for me for the last 4 months so now I'm used to it. As soon as I got enuff money to get another set up, I abandoned blu. I was kinda forced to go back to using it when the very first clearomizer I got leaked all over. I'm kinda forced to keep using it now cuz I don't want to go thru so much juice in such a short period of time. I have heard of the smokeless image e cig you mentioned. Maybe I will just buy another blu like e cig to vape on along with my tank set up so I can still save on e juice. I really do not want to be buying e juice every 2 days. Every 3 wouldn't be as bad but right now I don't even think I'm getting 2 full days before needing to buy more juice. How do I post a picture? I will be happy to post a picture of my set up!! :) I am posting this reply using my iPhone if that makes a difference.

@ evan la'garde, is there anyway to just make the e juices I know I like a little thicker? I'm super picky with e liquid & the 2 juices I use now are the only ones I can constantly vape on all day. I'm sure there's others out there that I will like just as much but it will probably take me forever to find them. In the meantime it would be sooooo great if there's a way to just make my juice thicker.

@ everyone who can respond, I'm going to a vape bash tonight and I'm super excited about it!! There's going to be over 40 vendors & over 40 sponsors. Is there anything available out there that I should try while I'm at this vape bash? A booth I should make sure I stop at or a product I should try?

Again thank you all to have responded!

I'm happy to report I will no longer be a blu user! Well I'll keep it for emergencies. But I got another whole new set up! Last night at the vape blast my mom bought me for my birthday a joyetech ecab!! She got one for herself as well. We were both disappointed in the lack of small slim batteries these vendors had. Almost every table had only big huge batteries for the advance experienced vaper. Totally not us. We both like the feel of a small PV, plus we can be more discreet with our vaping. We did get to try maybe 3 small batteries. So far it seems to be solving all my problems. I'm still keeping the ego t type system I have & rotate between the 2 throughout the day. The ecab isn't going thru as much e juice as ego t. Also I will no longer have to depend on cartridges anymore which is a total plus. The only thing ill have to keep buying regularly will be the e juice and I now have a store down the street for that! The less I have to depend on online the better!! Again thanks again for everyone's responses!
