Rahz- You are the only person I have heard of removed both the plastic caps on the cart. I did the same thing but did not remove the thing that is left. I just drip with that in there and it goes to the atomizer good.

Hmm, well if it works, it works. My only issue would be that with the rectangular section (I think this is what you're refering to) intact, you can't drip directly onto the bridge. Of course, if your setup is working good, dripping directly on the bridge as opposed to dripping onto the mesh surrounding the ceramic section might be over-rated. I'll give it a try with another cart and see how it works for me.

I managed to pop out the first cap with the hole but i'm not sure what to do next. do you have pics to detail the 2nd part and the drilling please? thx

I don't have any pics, but it's pretty simple. I actually removed the second cap with the drill. If you use a small bit (1/4" or slightly less) and drill down on the second cap the drill will cause it to break loose and when you pull the drill bit out, that little round piece should be attached to the drill bit. Once the second circular piece is removed you will be able to see the bottom of the rectangular area that holds the fiber.

From here, it was just a matter of pushing the drill bit down through that plastic and widening the hole a little (though as Martha pointed out, this may not be necessary)

I used linesman pliers to hold the cart, but any set of pliers that can grip the cart will do. It will scuff the cart up, so use a towel or piece of rubber sheeting between the cart and pliers if you want your cart to stay pretty.

In another thread, someone else mentioned using an exacto knife to cut out part of the rectangular area... which seemed too skillful for me:D Easier for me to ram a drill bit down through there until it's hollow all the way through.

If you don't want to use the drill method, straighten a paperclip (or use something similar) push it through the hole and pop that little guy out.

I have a 510 and i'm interested in learning how to drip.
do you guys remove the cartridge altogether and leave the exposed atty bridge? It would be a complete PITA if you had to constantly remove the empty cartridge, drip 2 drops, reattach the cartridge, just to vape. and to do this every couple of draws?? definitely too much work and hassle.

so would drawing with no cartridge on the 510 atty be dangerous? MUST I reattach the empty cartridge?

I used to think the same thing - dang, that's a lot of work - BUT - once I started dripping on the HV PO's, I'm totally hooked - nothing works better in my opinion. On the HV's I drip 5-6 drops and only use an empty mouth piece and it's the closest thing to a real analog I've had yet. I started out using 901's and almost always go back to them. I've got all the adapters to use 801's, 510's, and cartos, but the 901 for some crazy reason always seems to be the best for me. I think really it's what you get used to. I'm hooked on dripping while I'm just watching TV or hanging out - if I'm out somewhere I just take one of the little 3ml bottles with me and I'm good to go.
