Question about ekowool and stainless steel rope for Kraken

I'm relatively new to the vape scene and started with an ego-c twist but quickly moved to a k-100 mech mod with an igo-w dual coil because I wanted to make some bigger, thicker clouds. I build my coils on my own so I guess I'm a quick learner. Anyway, I ordered a Kraken genesis style rebuildable atomizer and I noticed from the videos that it has a different method of building it than the igo-w. Instead of using regular 3mm silica wick like I do with my rda, I was thinking I do 2mm stainless steel rope with an ekowool sleeve for this one as I hear that is what is recommended most. Not sure what the diameter for the ekowool would be though, I would assume also 2mm. I want someone's advice on this, preferably with knowledge or experience on the kraken. I also have no idea where to get the ekowool and ss rope from at a reasonable price. I would greatly appreciate the help, Thanks!

i get most of my rba supplies off of ebay. cheap and can find a source that is pretty close so it takes 2-3 days to get tops. I dont have a kraken so im not much help on the other questions.

Agree with the lightning vapes post. I get my wire from there. You could also try putting some cotton on the mesh and just wrap a standard coil. That's how I have my gennies setup. I found that ekowool was not for me.

Thanks I'll check that place out! Out of curiosity, if I would be using 2mm stainless steel rope would I also get 2mm ekowool or does the ekowool stretch over the 2mm size?

I'm gonna go ahead and order a small amount to try it out as I have heard some good and some bad things about it. I would go with cotton but the last time I used it in my dripper it had a really weird, unpleasant taste that I just couldn't ignore. I hadn't boiled it though so that might've been my problem. I'll be sure to try both wicks and choose off of personal preference.

EDIT: Could you tell me the length of your ss rope? I'm thinking I would need around 1.5-1.75 in but I am just speculating. Thanks again!

Title says "rope", body says "mesh". They are two different things, and both are viable. I personally prefer an ekowool sleeve over rope (eliminates shorts, reduces hot spots, less hassle than rolling and scorching mesh).

Alternatively, you could build a microcoil and wick it with cotton (through the coil and down into the tank).

Sorry about that bro, meant to say rope. Fixed it now. I didn't like the taste of the cotton when I used it so I think I'm gonna try out the ss rope with ekosleeve combo. You mind telling me what the length of the ss rope and diameter of ekosleeve should be if I get 2mm ss rope?
