First off, I love this forum! Wealth of information, ideas, failures, and successes for a newbie like me.

So I picked up some SS rope to motivate me to use the RSST. I've read a major con is the battery drain from coil heat lost to the rope and juice. do you guys run on half empty tanks to reduce heat loss? Does ekowool or cotton solve this issue? i am cheap so hoping cotton works.

at first i was excited bout setting up the RSST but the IGO-L had all my attention during my foray into the RBA world. it has been a week of testing nearly all possible combos of silica, cotton, mesh, lazy coils and microcoils on my SVD. My favorite is IGO-L + microcoil + cotton for its ease, efficiency, cost, and taste.

haven't settled on whether I prefer normal wicking through the coil, or reverse-wicking (as explained in the nano-dragon coil thread). i'm leaning away from reverse wicking b/c any difference seems marginal. plus cotton aerodynamics and airflow are for nerds

going to perfect single coils before trying double coils and OMG THIS TURNING INTO AN OBSESSION. COTTON PIECES EVERYWHERE. :glare:
