I have watched many videos on how to fill a cartomizer using the condom method. I checked through the last 7 days of this forum and still didn't find exactly what I need to know. Maybe I'm being too detailed?

I fill the condom 3/4 full. I very slowly push the battery end into the condom. If I see the juice starting to peek through I stop and wait 10 seconds then push some more and repeat until the juice just spills out right away and the top looks like a slushy. I remove the condom, wipe off the battery end and then blow out the excess juice. However at this point the top doesn't look slushy anymore. It's definitely darker but not slushy. If I drip more juice on the top it starts leaking out of the bottom again. I do try to drip along the walls of the cartomizer so that it doesn't go in the center.

My question is should it look slushy just before I use it? I always try to make sure there is no juice at all coming from the battery end. I know KGOs are sealed..I just don't like the idea of juice dripping onto it. Plus I am using a smok 1.7 +- 2.0 cartomizer. After reading about the difficulties people are having with them I am wondering if this is normal or not.

Just now I let it set for an hour, no slush. I dripped 8 drops and it spilled out of the bottom.

I'm pretty new to this, only been vaping a little over a month, but I have done the condom fill method from the very start, and it sounds like your carto is fully saturated. It doesn't have to look slushy as you pop it on and get ready to vape. I do it like that, and after my first 5 or 6 vapes, I take off my drip tip and put several drops around the edges of the carto, and continue that way for the rest of the day. I do occasionally drip around 10 drops in there after I've been puffing away on it for a long time. In my experience, i know I've dripped too many drops in there if it leaks out where the bottom of the carto meets the device, in which case I just wipe it off and keep on vapin.

I have found though that after a period of days goes by, if I'm dripping in there and it keeps running out, even though I've not dripped a whole lot, for me it means that carto is probably done-for, and either needs to be cleaned or tossed. Hope that helps, I'm still learning too!

I'm sure it depends on what type/size of carto you're using, I just fill until it won't absorb anymore. Blow out any excess (back into the bottle) and let it sit for a bit to fully soak the filler. I know that with the cartridges (used with an atomizer) we used to say until slushy/not pooled on top but they use poly fiberfill and absorb pretty quickly.

hth! ;)

Glad I could be of some help, not real confident on my explanation of things, lol! I chain vape like crazy too, and that sounds about right to me, the 2 or 3 hour mark after I fill a carto is about when i need to start topping off with some drips. I just converted my husband to vaping today, and am have spent the day stressing to him that he must keep that carto wet so that he doesn't get that harsh dry hit and burn up the carto---he keeps bringing it to me to "fix it"....GAH! The man can rebuild a car from the ground up, but he can't be bothered with learning to fill a carto? lol bless his heart...

Also, don't blow and blow on the carto, eventually all the juice on the sides will pour out. Just give it a good blast like you're blowing a whistle.

I just figured out the multi quote! Yay! Ok..good tip. Thanks! I do tend to blow more frequently..usually until the juice stops coming out.

Thanks Link..I've thought about that but I want to go to an actual brick and mortar to check it out. Maybe some time this summer. The clearomizers (I hope I said that correctly) also interest me but I'm reading mixed reviews.

get a tank, theyre like 15 bucks and dont have to refill for couple days.
