So I am totally happy with my sigelei 150W mod and Maganus tank. Couldn't ask for better vapor, battery life (Samsung 25Rs), or airflow.

Which leads me to flavor. I used to vape 60PG/40VG 8mg and found it WAYYYY too harsh in the new setup. I soon switched to 80VG/20PG 8mg and now I get a smooth draw and excellent vapor.

Flavor is the lacking part now. I have really only gone up to 50Watts in the new setup and was wondering if I should up the wattage, try new juices, lower the nic content, etc.

Thoughts??

PG is said to carry the flavour better. So if your making your juice may need to increase the flavour.
Buying juice perhaps go for an added flavour option if they have it , or look and read around for where people buy high vg juice and like it.
Could also be the 8mg in that tank is too high for you.

Uggg. I hate blanket statements. Especially when it comes to the question of "what wattage is best".

Raise your hand if you have used a Maganus tank before responding. Anyone? Anyone at all? No? Didn't think so.

I have. The Maganus is exactly the same thing as the Freemax Starre which I own. These are HIGH WATT subohm tanks. They're meant to be run at high wattage, not low. They do not work well below 50W. They just barely start working right at 50W. They really shine in the 60-70W range.

Being an owner of the same tank that uses the same coils, I would say bump the wattage up to 60W, and then move up in 5W increments from there. The coils are rated to handle up to 100W and will have no problems at all taking 60, 70, or even 80W settings. If you're lacking flavor it's because your wattage is too low for the type of tank and coil you're using.

And every single person that said lower the wattage gave you bad advice because they do not know what they are talking about. At 30W this tank will barely even work. 20W and it won't even produce vapor. And as for the RDA, get the Maganus working right and it will run circles around 95% of the RDA builds out there for flavor. But it MUST be used at high wattages. That's what it was designed for.

In all fairness, not a single person above said to LOWER the wattage, they just said to adjust the wattage for the flavor in 5 watt increments. Interesting thought that the higher wattage tanks can produce so much flavor though. I have yet to try one. I like the lower profile of RDA's (and I like the act of dripping and the ease of changing flavors), but I may look into purchasing one to try when I get some extra cash. It would be great for driving or mowing the lawn or other situations when dripping isn't a great option.

In all fairness...

Its not necessarily going up in power that helps. Some juices work better at lower wattages.

Vape your flavors in 5 watt increments to find the sweet spot for that particular liquid. I vary between 20-55W depending upon what I'm vaping.

Agreed with the above statements

Call me crazy, but that doesn't look like anyone agreed with the idea that MORE wattage is what he needed. It's undeniable that not one person said "Yes, you have a high wattage tank, you need more watts to make it work right".

I've been vaping a couple of years. Got RDAs, RTAs, and quite a few clearos. I've got a lot of vaping friends and have spent quite a bit of time in vaping shops.

The right person with the right RDA who really knows what they're doing can squeeze a bit more flavor out of an RDA than the Starre/Maganus tank. But the vast majority simply cannot. This tank works WONDERFULLY for flavor and vapor production, but it is absolutely designed to run at high wattage. It has a parallel, dual vertical coil build, the ONLY tank on the market with that type of coil build. There are two wires running parallel to each other in a spaced vertical coil which is surrounded by Japanese Cotton. You can chain vape on these with 100% VG juice at 80W and higher and never get a dry hit. They're sold as "competition level" tanks, and they live up to that claim.

:headbang: Closest thing I've found to a hand raise. Yes, I've tried a Magnus. I own one and am vaping on it right now @ 40W higher than that and the taste of the liquid fades and all I get is an unidentifiable 'hot' taste. With one liquid, I vape it at 20W for the best flavor.

I guess I'm doing it wrong...but it tastes so right!
