Question about Forum

May be a stupid question (maybe not). When I post a thread and I get the answer to my post do I close the thread somehow or does it automatically expire at some point (driven by inactivity?)

no it never expires. You dont close the thread. hope this hleps/

What is really weird is the very first thread I ever put up here was in the 'Ask the Experts' section (it was just a noob question), and it had to be approved by an admin.

It got approved & posted. It was replied to one time & then closed/locked.

Now...I can't even post threads anymore. Now I'm told I have to have 15 posts in THIS forum before I can post anywhere else. A new rule I suppose.

Ah well, it's great for keeping spammers away, so I'm ok with it.

That's how that forum functions, should be in an FAQ on that forum stickied at the top. You ask a question, you get an expert's answer & that's it.

You can post anywhere else, just can't start threads anywhere but here until you have 15 posts, I believe.

Don't close, other new users may find your answers to help them as well. Only time you should close a thread is if you post accidentally in the wrong forum, then you should close and report to admin and one other situation is in classified, when your items has sold you close.

You can post anywhere else, just can't start threads anywhere but here until you have 15 posts, I believe.

You can post in threads in other forums at any time. However, to start a new thread in any forum but this one, you need to have 15 posts.
