Question about Mesh Rebuildables

I never owned a mesh rebuildable and my question is simple (I hope)...

Do you mesh rebuildable atty users have to buy mesh "coils" that are manufactured specifically for your attty? Or can you actually EASILY make your own mesh "coils" like we wire users make our own wire coils?

I use both pre-made and spooled.

I mainly use TC and the reason for using SS-316L. But the above options are available for A1 & NI80 and from different sources.

Thanks. I think I was remembering a post where someone had to do some welding, but I believe that was for rebuilding a factory coil because they needed to weld negative and positive leads on the ends of the mesh.
