Question About Minthol

I have been vaping a 50ml bottle of the 16mg Minthol I purchased from madvapes in December. I LOVE the flavor! My problem is hubbs ordered two 50ml bottles of the 11mg for me on 2/20/12 and it is not the same flavor at all. This tastes 100% like spearmint not minthol, both bottles. Are you guys using a different recipe or different supplier ingredients? I may cry if I can't find the same minthol flavor I started vaping with.

I know taste is subjective but hubbs has tried it as well and it's spearmint all the way. Not bashing your company at all, I love MadVapes! You are the reason I no longer smoke the "stinkies"! Just wondering if I order more of the 11mg is it going to be the same taste.

Now back to mail box watching waiting for our MadVapes orders due in this week! w00t!

Well I guess I need to decide if I am going to roll the dice on the 11mg and order more or order more 16mg and hope it tastes the same.

Sorry I didn't see this, I made a order of 11mg and it did have a spearmint vape.. When I first got the minthol it was more mintholy at 18mg....not sure what's going on...but it's not bad I like it I also mixed it with root beer..I call it tholbeer..yummy.

Bummer. I seriously hate anything spearmint flavored and I really don't want to stay at 16mg...ugh..

I have recieved several flavors that were NOT what they were supposed to be or even close! I do not order juices there anymore and just make my own, which is a very predictable outcome. I feel bad for you, if I were you I would put in a ticket as that is alot of juice, mine thank goodness were just a couple of sample sizes and not worth the hassle.

I called MadVapes yesterday about this issue. They were very nice on the phone and helpful. Basically if I want the hard menthol taste I need to stay with 16mg as the 11mg is not as strong and more of the spearmint comes through. The longer this steeps, the less it tastes like 100% spearmint. It does not have the same "hit" as the 16mg but I think after some time I can get use to it.

Do any of your local gas stations carry Tasty Puffs? If they sell it in your area, you might want to try mixing some Tasty Puffs Menthol in with your fluid to get more flavor.

I wasn't a menthol smoker, but was wanting to try something different in my fluids so I bought some of the Tasty Puffs menthol from the local Shell station... didn't really like it - it reminded me too much of a full-flavor menthol cig... go figure.

But you never know, it may be something a menthol smoker would like?

I am trying to be at 11-12 mg for most juices also and have noticed that with most madvapes juices I can't do that, though it is primarily because of hit - big difference between the 16-18 juices and the 11 mg. I have also noticed a flavor difference in one of the juices, madvapes, between 11 and 18. 18 is much better flavor wise. I had a little 18 left and have been adding it to my tank of 11 mg mad grapes. So far when it comes to downgrading my nic to 11 mg with madvapes, each time I haven't been happy. So lowest I would go is 16 and with some I wouldn't want to try even going that low from the 18. That is one of the things that bums me out about their juice is I can't go lower in nic level BUT otherwise I like many of the top vapor juices and the price is right.

Yeah I just got in another order of the 16mg and it is spot on for taste! So different from the 11mg. My husband has some menthol flavor I may try to mix with the 11mg to see if I can get a taste that is close. I have nothing to lose at this point with the 11mg because I cannot vape it at all. I tried and tried and I do not like sweet flavors and the 11mg is a sweet spearmint not menthol flavor. But thank goodness the 16mg is a dependable flavor otherwise I would be going back to the stinkies and I do NOT want to do that. I am almost at the three month mark without one single ciggie and I want to keep moving forward, not backwards.

You could just try mixing the 11mg with some 60/40 PG/VG 11mg Nic juice to tone down the flavor but keep the same nic level. Just a thought...
