I have a Joye510 which I love, but I've been reading lots of good things here about the eGo. Since I'm fully off the analogs and comfortable with using e-cigs, I may be ready to transition to something new. However, I'm a little confused by my research. Are there several different eGo models out there? Is the tank system different from the standard eGo? Or are they all one and the same? If they are different, any recommendations to help me sort out what to purchase? Thank you!

I was actually going to write a similar post....I was wondering the same thing, I wonder if anyone has put together a chart or something. Specifying what models are really the same (i.e. Joye eGo/TW Tornado/Volcano Magma/etc...), what brands might be knockoffs and not compatible, and what batteries/attys/carts/tanks & such that the specific models are compatible with all on one sheet. I feel the confusion as a noob myself, there are so many that look the same, but aren't, but you can use some items from 2 different models interchangeably. I know something like that would help clear some things up for me.

Ego-t = juice tank system with an atty that has a needle that punctures the tank (no fluval or filler of any sort) Those come in Type A 1.1ml tank cone shape atomizer and Type B 2ml tank with cylinder shaped atomizer.

eGo mega - Large atomizer system with large cartridge with filler. They come Type A 1.5 ml cone shape and Type B 2.5 ml cylinder shape. They are large attys with large cartridges.

eGo 510 - eGo kit that comes with 510 attys and cartridges holding roughly half a ml.

eGo cartomizer - an eGo specific cartomizer system that looks a lot like the eGo megas. the carto holds 2.5ml of juice.

The eGo batteries come in several types as well and some vendors let you choose which ones will come in your kit. The eGo 650 is just a 650 mah ego battery. The eGo passthrough is an eGo 650 mah with a USB port so it can be used as a passthrough. The eGo 1000 which is a 1000 mah eGo battery. - Then there are also the eGo-t 1000 and 650 which are just eGo batteries that also have a disable function where you click the button 5 times to disable the battery and click it again 5 times to re-enable it (very pocket and purse friendly).

I think I covered it.

You can use your 510 attys and carts on an eGo. The eGo battery lasts for @6.5 hours. It is wider in diameter but has the same fitting for the 510 - for appearance and some functionality - there is a cone that fits over the 510 atty. If you get a regular eGo kit you'll get 2 650mAh batteries, 2 510 attys, a pack of 510 carts, a usb charge and some include a wall adapter for the usb charger, and perhaps a cloth case.

But if you're considering the eGo, since you already have the 510 attys, you might consider getting a eGo-t kit. And with the better reports and more ejuice capacity, the B type/cylinder kit might be a good buy.

https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ebt-all.htm

You'll get all the above, minus the cone and the B type attys and tanks in place of the 510 atty and carts.

You might want to pick up a cone in case you want to use your 510 attys/carts. The B type tanks hold 2.5ml of ejuice which can last you about 4 hours fairly heavy vaping and longer depending on your use. The batteries also have an on/off function that doesn't exist in the regular eGo kits.

You can also get the A type in the eGo-t - 1.5ml capacity.

If for some reason you don't like the tanks but would like more capacity than the 510 cartridges, you can get the mega eGo attys and carts - again the B types hold about 2.5ml and the A type 'cone atty/carts' which are tapered - much like the original cone - holds 1.5ml of ejuice.

There is also mega eGo cartomizers, LR attys for the A and B types of the megas and also LR A type for the eGo-ts (and likely LR for the B types to come shortly).

AND ... :) you could get 510 cartomizers or a 510 to 901 adapter and get KR8 and Bloog Maxxfusion cartos. So it is one of the most flexible systems out.

eGos are compatible with Tornados from totally wicked and Rivas from various vendors. You can also get even longer lasting batteries in 900mAh (9 hours), 1000mAh (10 hours) and 1100 (11 hours). And a Passthrough that has a usb charger for at home or for on the road with the appropriate adapters.

Wow, thank you for all the info! Another question: with the tank system, can I refill the tanks myself or do they have to come pre-filled?

The tanks come empty. You will have to fill them yourself with your favorite juice.

Edit: i forgot to mention that they are also refillable. You can fill them again and again and again (and easily).

Also, can I just buy some eGo batteries and switch them out on my Joye510 and get the longer battery life or am I missing something?

The volts on the eGo are about the same as the 510 - both are 'governed' to @3.2v. The Riva SE is a true 3.7volt underload. And yes, you can get the batteries to improve your battery life and still use the 510 atty - however the chargers are a bit different so you'd have to pick up an eGo charger. Which will likely ruin you're 510 batts - the eGo charger is 400-500ma and the 510 only 100-200ma. And you might pick up a cone as well. That's all though. Again, the eGo-t batts have the on/off which depending on how you carry may be a factor. And then later, you could get the tank attys and tanks although buying separately is likely more money...
