Question about Nautilus mini!!! Help Please!!!

Hello all!
My current setup is the Aspire Nautilus mini tank with new iJoy ETOP-D mod. I'm not sure what it is, but I always get the raunchy burnt taste and I'm not sure what it is. The mod goes by amps and so, you have to take ohms law in account. With a new coil, I set my mod at 2.2 amps, which according to ohms law is 3.96 volts and 8.712 watts. The coils I use for my Nautilus is the 1.8ohm (BVC) coil, but after a couple hits it's like the battery dries the coil out and gives me the strong burnt taste! I then have to prime the coil again with 2 to 3 drops of my ejuice and it lasts a couple hits, than I have to prime it again like an RDA or something. I got tired of doing that over and over again so I turned it down to 1.4 amps, which reads 2.52 volts and 3.528 watts. It doesn't really give a burn taste, more of the flavor, but doesn't give a good vape like I want it to as like 2.2 amps would give me. I don't know what to do.. Should I try a higher 2.2 ohms coil or the lower 1.6 ohms coil?
I really tempted just to get another battery, but I wanted to try a couple things before I do buy another battery, so I save the money if I can.

Any help or feedback would be appreciated, thanks!!

Does your mod read true? I find it very odd that you are experience burnt anything at 8.7watts. I was using my mini on my istick (runs hot btw) at 14.5 watts at 1.7ohms (using the 1.6ohm coil) and flavor was epic. Same on the 1.8 ohm coil reading at 1.9ohms. I'd consider swapping mods to isolate the problem. Also, if you torched your coil you'll have a nasty taste forever, so if the taste is nasty, you may have torched wicking material.
