I have a question. Since it was suggested to me that for my needs a good upgrade might be the Aspire Nautilus Mini with an istick30w I decided to look around for prices.

Now, online it seems my best best is at mount baker.. they gave me a coupon code for 10 percent off, and I can get free shipping, a free 10ml bottle of juice, the Aspire Nautilus mini as well as the istick30w, all appropriate chargers ect and all brand new for just over 53.00 total (i took off that 10% in this equation)

so... I thought okay, that is not bad.. but I am a thrifty type so I thought I would run over to eBay and see what they might have.. but what I am finding on eBay is crazy..

people are selling their USED istick30w and a USED nautilus for over 60.00! Someone had their used stuff up for auction and the bidding on it went over 60 last night..

why on earth are people buying used stuff for more than the cost of new? Now, I checked against everything she had, and the only difference was a nautilus verses a mini, but at the store I am looking at, this only adds one dollar to the total cost of new..she didn't have extra coils or extra anything, she actually had less than what the store had..

am I missing something somewhere.. or what?

It is just a conformation of how clueless a large portion of the vaping community still is. Many people shop eBay thinking if it is listed there it must be the best deal. Where as people familiar with vaping know eBay is one of the last places you want to shop for vaping gear.

It is always best to buy from a reputable vaping vendor and know exactly what you are getting. Mt. Baker is a good one, also Eciggity, MVS, VapeNW and Sweet Vapes are ones where you can typically find the best prices.

People believe the moon landing is fake. They could have been shopping drunk on eBay for all you know. I wouldn't use the worst decision makers on eBay as a metric for good decision making, you're making the right choice getting a solid setup from a reputable seller.

Also, MBV is 100% legit and sells authentic devices, as opposed to clones. I've bought several devices from them.

I also can't imagine why someone would buy a used device with an internal battery. All batteries reduce performance and eventually die, so why gamble and hope that used I stick 30w wasn't used to death prior to being sold.

GL with your purchase, I'm using an I stick 30w as I write this.

People just don't know how to research on eBay it seems. B&Ms are also a little more, but in my opinion if it's $5 or $10 difference I'll usually support the local store. I see this used price being higher in the local Facebook group or even in the classifieds on here before. This dude was trying to sell just the iStick 50w and USB cable for like $60 when you can buy it new for cheaper. He hasn't sold it, part of me hope someone isn't dumb enough to buy it. What gets me is, the person selling it charging much more than new. Like they're greedy and trying to take advantage of someone new.

I see stuff like that on Amazon. Plus when something costs roughly 10 bucks and there are a bunch of listings for $9.99, someone will list the same thing for $999.00.

They're hoping someone misreads it for whatever reason and pays 100x what they should.

There are many good online shops that are racing for your buisness, many are right here in the states I have a pack of buisness cards with over 40 different vendors that I buy from, my first places to look are 101 vapes, Wake and Vape,Vaporbeast,Vapor Dna,EcigAvenue,Ecigcity,Vape Royalty, Sweet Vapes, used all of them with no problems yet. most have coupon codes or run great deals. The more new stuff comes out the cheaper all the other stuff gets to make way for the new. Like dbrand said though if I see it in one of the b&ms I shop for a little more I would buy it just to help them out and to have it right away. I never shop on Ebay for anything vape related, especially batteries. For good Battery prices the best I have found is IMR batteries. for wire it is Lightning Vapes or Tempco.

Thanks for replying. That was definitely what it seemed to me, but myself being also reasonably new to vaping and having heard some people do sell fakes, I was a bit unclear on what to trust at that point - especially since I saw another place selling the same set up for 40 dollars more for new - and decided it was a good thing to ask about.

Thanks for the list of some reputable vendors.. I purchased some juice from mt.baker and really liked their customer service, seemed like good people and those are always the people you want to do business with. But with such huge price discrepancies, I figured I really should make sure they were reputable.

But at least now I know which store truly had the better deal and made sure that it was going to be an accurate product and not a cheap fake! Nothing worse than a knock off! You cannot find out these things though without shopping around, asking questions, and analyzing the situation you see!

Thanks for your help!

You could get an istick 40w TC and isub for around 45-50£

I'll be honest with you, at current moment I don't see me needing that much wattage. I use an ego now, and only use up about 1 - 1.2 ml of eliquid a day... I hear people say how much juice they go through, and at current moment I cannot even imagine how.. so I think a 30w with suffice for me!

Thanks for your advice though!

lol @ the moon landing, and yeah, you are correct about that.

Thank you for confirming what the first poster stated, it is great to know what more than one person thinks - and it makes you feel safer when many people stand in agreement on something! That is rare..

If you are vaping 1ml a day at 5 watts, and you upgrade and start vaping at 15 watts (3 times the watts), you will likely vape 3ml a day.
(btw, you will likely need to drop nicotine strength by a factor a 3 in that case)

Ahhh... I didn't consider that! Thanks.. someone told me I would be needing to decrease my nicotine, but its good to see a break-down such as you just gave!

Great info thank you so much!

B&M = Brick and Mortar
Meaning a store place that you can physically walk into, as distinct from online shopping.

Ahh.. okay.. yeah there are none around here.. and I am not driving an hour and a half.. ordering online is about my only option at current moment. But its good to keep in mind should one happen to open up..
