So I go a 4ml Tube tank from Volcano and it uses a punched carto with a little post above the threads. The post is a flat circle with straight edges on the sides that slightly recess flush on the bottom of the tank. Do I need to purchase the cartos from Volcano @ $3.oo a pop or are there any cartos that are compatible? Thanks for any feed back.:vapor:

That little circle just over the threads of the carto is called a flange. You can get flanged cartos at a wide variety of vendors, usually vendors that sell carto tanks too. Madvapes sells them at $1.79-$2.29 depending on what kind you get, single coil, dual coil, they have different numbers of holes too, you just have to find out what your preference is. I like either single or dual coil, I'm just fine with single coil, and I prefer them with 2 prepunched holes. They have ones now with bigger prepunched holes too, which is a nice option. You may be able to get them even cheaper if you find a sale coupon. Madvapes has a coupon code right now for 10% off - vapercon - expires on the 19th. Check out the ecf deals and steals thread and subscribe to it to keep up on the latest sales!!

True, I have heard you can use regular unflanged cartos too. I just got my first tank that does NOT have a recess for a flange and put in my first unflanged carto, it wasn't working at first, was just sliding out, but an o-ring in the bottom cap's hole helped it and now it's staying, yay!!! I still prefer the easiness tho of just getting a flanged carto and it just fitting into a tank with that recess for the flange...like a puzzle piece into a puzzle lol. I would imagine that for that particular tank you would need an XL carto if you decide to go unflanged - a regular size carto would probably be too short to work....

Yeah, I haven't had one of those tanks from volcano so I'm not SURE if the OP needs a regular size carto or XL length carto - but I'm leaning towards the XL length bc if that's a typical tank that takes the flange I think all the flanged cartos are XL. Yeah, now with my new tank that doesn't have a flange recess, and now has an o-ring in it, it's a tight fit but much better than the really loose fit before the o-ring was put in!! I was too afraid to even put juice in it, figured the juice would just come out for sure lol. But the person that sold me the tank was kind and sent me some o-rings too after I told her my prob. :)
