I recently purchased a cuboid which uses 2x 18650 in series. I purchased a new matching pair of batteries for the mod.

Ok, I also have another pair of 25r batteries that have been used in rotation very lightly in a vtc mini (single 18650).

My question is: would it be ok to use the pair of 25r in the cuboid even though they have been used independently in another mod? They are like-new and have not been pushed at high wattages.

Also, am I supposed to rotate the batteries? As in swap the two in series around after each charge or keep them in the same position always?

Thanks for any help

If they've been used about the equal number of times, at similar wattages, down to the same voltages. Ideally you should check their internal resistance and charge capacity. In short, they might be ok to use together but it's difficult to know for sure. Batteries are cheap so I'd definitely recommend getting a new pair and marrying them from the start.

Thanks yes they have been used equally. I have another pair of Batts on order for the cuboid but was hoping to make use of these 25r so I have a spare set for now.

It's difficult to say for sure. I do use some pairs that were previously uncoupled in parallel mods, but I have a analysing charger where I can check the voltage before and after charging, the internal resistance, and capacity. It might be fine, that's all I can say.

I don't rotate positions, it shouldn't be necessary. However, in previously unmarried batteries that's probably a good idea.
