Hi everyone!

So I've been researching pretty much all month what the best short e cig to buy is and I've come down to these five:

Volcano
V2
Volt
Blue
Vapor4Life

I just realized almost all of them begin with a V  Damn you blu for messing up the pattern!
Anyway, I bought a Volcano kit and my boyfriend and I are REALLLYYYY not happy with them. I could write SEVERAL pages why but Ill say in short:

His PCC stopped working after 2 days.
Both of my batteries didnt pull or functions half as well as his.
My PCC's charging port was OFF alignment so I cant charge it...at all...
Both our batteries run out after maybe 2 vape sessions.
Its been taking them longer and longer to charge? I have no idea why.

So back to Volcano they go under warranty. *Sigh* Very dissapointed.

THAT being said, my boyfriend wants a larger battery. Vapor4life offers the longer (XL) battery that hes interested in. I havent seen many reviews for them and honeslty i can never tell whether or not real people are writing them or if its some paid person.

So guys...WHAT is the best longer battery cigarette? Hes not willing to spend more on Volcano, hes pretty turned off by them and I dont blame him. Blu doesnt offer a longer size (although he did love the disposables, as did I) and I havent read much on V2 longer ones. Hes leaning towards Vapor4Life batteries as they dont seem very expensive. I offered him to try making a Mod but hes not too interested in doing that either.

What do you guys think?

Here & There
I have a Volt, identical product to the Bloog and Nhaler's Kr808DM kit and I bought it because its a gen 2 and regulated to 3.7 volt from start to finish. They also have frequent sales and cost less than Bloog. Bloog has an XL battery too but honestly thats only going to buy you maybe a half hour to an hour more of vaping than the standard 78 mm. Its a good product but I don't know how long you mean by "vaping sessions" but the standard lasts from 2 to 3.5 hours depending how frequently you vape. If you chain vape its two hours tops. You will each need at least two batteries. I have used the Volt for 8 weeks and just started with a 3.7 volt box mod. I changed the battery after 5 hours so thats an improvement for me for now.

I cannot rate the other products you mentioned but just wanted you to know the Volt is identical to the other brands I mentioned. There seems to be generic KR808 kits at more and more vendors lately too. Vapor 4 Life is a gen 1 I believe and not compatible with gen 2 products. That means you can only buy from them or a vendor that has Gen 1. Gen 1 is unregulated device Gen 2 is regulated.

My first kit was the Blu starter kit. At the time, I was pretty happy with it. I successfully quit smoking cigarettes using the Blu. In hindsight, it did have it's problems, though (some of which you mentioned having with your volcano). I had a couple dud batteries and the ones that worked did quickly started to need charging early and often. The cartridges seemed to be hit or miss concerning vapor production. However, they seemed to be a little higher quality than you have experienced with Volcano. I had MUCH better luck with a Joye 510 kit. It sounds like you want a PCC, so this might be a good option for you:

510 PCC KIT

I've had really good luck with MadVapes as a vendor. The manual batteries on these 510 kits performed much better for me than the automatic batteries on my Blus. Good luck with your choice!

Heyas Saber,

If you're dead set on a batt that has about the same diameter as an analog, I'd recommend a joye 510. Or, a joye 510 with xl batts for a longer batt. I believe some of the vendors you listed sell rebranded 510's, and some are very well respected around here. Personally, I like it when a site tells me exactly what I'm getting (i.e. joye 510, joye ego, riva, etc) instead of putting their own name on it and leaving me to research what it actually is. But, that's just me.

Liberty flights has great prices, and will tell you exactly what you're getting. The site is a .UK url, but stateside orders are shipped from CA (if I remember right). I've ordered from them and shipping and service were prompt and excellent. Cignot also tells you what you're getting, and had great shipping and service. They're a bit more expensive, but not unreasonably so. I've also ordered from ecigsupply and crystal clear vaping, both stateside vendors. ecigsupply was great to work with, and has great sale prices on some things, some times. I'm still waiting on my order from crystal clear vaping, but they seem like a good vendor also, so far.

Having said that, since you were both disappointed with battery life, and the bf is already looking at longer batts, how about considering a fat batt? They seem like they would be too big to be comforable at first glance, but I fell in love with my eGo in no time flat. And, even the 650mah fat batts tend to last me more than a day between charges (moderate vaper here). The Riva is another fat batt model that is well spoken of here, and tends to be a bit less expensive than the joye ego. Both are 510 threaded, so SHOULD be interchangeable...

I'll leave the recommendations for kr8's and other models for ppl who know more about them. I only have direct experience with 510 stuff.

If it's not against a cigarish shaped battery also referred to as a fatt battery he'll get much better battery life and they aren't any longer than a slim battery just a bigger diameter. Liberty Flights has the Riva for at a great price when clicking the 20% discount link on the website.

If he wants to stay with a slim battery the long 808 is probably his best bet. Smokeless Image carries the Volt which is regulated, available in 2 lengths, manual or automatic in assorted colors. The longer length has really good battery life for the slim sized, hard to beat.

Does it have to be a longer slim battery? How about a short fatter battery or long fatter battery? How about a KGO from hoosierecigsupply.com? They hit hard and have a higher voltage than a lot of the other types of batteries on the market. Just throwing a thought out to you........

Give this suggestion a bit of thought... When I had a little cig look-alike, I thought an eGo-T was huge and I would never get used to it. Well, it took all of an hour or so. One thing led to another, and I ran through the even longer eGo batteries with the gigantor carto's on them. Those feel pretty small now. You adapt fast, I suspect because every time you go up in size, the performance improves your experience and other things become less important.

Both our batteries run out after maybe 2 vape sessions.

That will be what will nudge you toward a bigger battery. Bigger batteries last longer, simple as that. The battery I am using right now is the one I put in last night about this time. I don't sleep long, and if I am awake, I am vaping. So it has seen some serious use. The trade-off is, a 2500 mAh (18650) battery isn't exactly 'dainty'.

Hi Saber and welcome to ECF! :)

If you're open to a larger size PV, about cigar size (except the mouthpiece! ), then I would suggest the Go-Go kits here: The Go-go is one of the finest electronic cigarettes on the market today.. The Go-Go is a great PV, the cartos are 3ml and the batts are 1300 mah, so both will last 1-2 days between refills/charges, depending on your vaping habits (YMMV!). This was my first one, and I've had it now since 8/10/11, and still LOVE it! The cartos typically last a good long time (I still have a couple from the first week that still hit great!), with refills naturally. They have taken all different types of juice really well. There's no PCC, but since the batts last so long, and there are two, there's really no need. I've not been in a "dead" situation yet!

Good luck on your journey, and remember you can always get help and answers here! :D

...heartily recommend the KGO from hoosierecigsupply.com...great (near)all day batt...if it is just too big forya, the Riva510 lite bundle from liberty-flights.com is a great 6-7hr alternative...if you insist on a slimline, in the same range was what you have, the Volt(2-4hr batt) from smokelessimage.com is highly thought of............

Somewhere out there
I use a Halo KR808D-1 standard 78 length, for a slim ecig I would not go shorter, have not tried the XL batts. I keep 6 batts charged so I always have a fresh one. I did just order a GLV 2 super mini, does not look like an ecig slim, but it is small and has longer battery life, so wanted to try it. But I love the slim cigs, just the batts only last so long. bnrk

Thank you guys so much for the suggestions!! I just have a few questions real quick:

-So it seems as if most of you have advised buying a Joye 510 unit. Where might we buy one of these?
-Also seems like some of you have suggested buying the Volt, and maybe V2 but no one has suggested Vapor 4 Life batteries. Are these no good? They have the longer battery sizes too but not sure what the deal with them is.

Vapor4Life are great - KR808D-1 threaded as are SmokelessImage Volt, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6. I vape both Vapor4Life and Volt. V2 is just an overpriced KR808D-1 - look at what they charge for spare batteries. Vapor4Life is the original all-KR808D-1 shop. The Volt/Bloog/G6 style is a relative newcomer.

I only recommend manuals. Easier to get a good hit, harder to damage or kill with juice leaks. And on a manual you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip to test juices (drip tips are not recommended on auto batteries)

Vapor4life - their batteries like their gold button single logo ones are customized to allowed up to a 10-13 second drag (will say so in the comments) and their older ones gave long drags as well. Normal manufacturer KR808D-1 as well as the rubberized models Volt, Bloog, G6 only allow a 5 second hit which is a bit too short - I press the button in up to 2 seconds before I start my drag so nice vapor is ready when i start dragging, so that can leave just 3 seconds for my drag. So with Volt I try to remember to only press 1 second early.

Other differences - the Volt/Bloog/G6 are rubberized finish, and regulated 3.6v and provide 40mah more charge for each size (vs identical sizes to Vapor4Life). Their manuals have a small partially recessed button which I find harder to press (but I am a weakling), and the manual threaded end looks completely sealed (at least the front of the battery center post is). I like them and they would be near perfect if the button was easier to press and if the was cutoff longer than 5 seconds.

The Vapor4Life batteries are 3.7v unregulated, hotter fresh off the charger (3.9 to 4.2v off the charger) with a plateau of 3.7v and a drop off at the end of charge. Drags up to 10-13 seconds are allowed. Their manuals have a more normal size button I find easier to press. Their manuals still have a hole in the middle of the threaded end post but it appears to be sealed or somewhat sealed inside. Certainly harder to damage than an auto but I don't know if they are totally sealed. Their biggest benefits are the long safety cutoff allowing a nice long drag and the extra heat coming off the charger (I do use a plastic of delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on cartos since their WOW cartos can get too hot for my lips. But heat adds to hit and I like it). Downside is not as much charge as the rubberized models and the less sealed threaded end on the manuals.

Cartomizers - they can all use each others. The V4L WOW cartos are hottest, their Coolcarts are less hot. The Volt/Bloog/G6 cartos are bottom coil so the vaper is cooler, mouth end of carto cooler for lips, but the stuffing is a bit looser so they seem to give a bigger drag more easily. I recommend you try all of them.

I'm a fan of the volt batteries, It's what I started with. But 2 batteries was not enough for me. The first one wouldn't charge by the time I emptied the second one. So I bought four batteries and 3 chargers and now I can chain vape all day with them.

However, I'm probably rough on batteries, at least auto batteries. I ruined 3 of them within two months by filling them while on the batt. Plus I use clear carts which can have leak issues. Got juice in the battery. :(

So I would definitely get manual or the new sealed Volt (or bloog) batteries next time. I also have igo and vgo big batteries but I like the smaller volts sometimes, the hands free operation is nice.

PERFECT thank you very much!

So your suggestion is to go with Vapor For Life but Volt is good too? Ill let him know. I know Im definitely going to buy a Vapor For Life battery, I mean...they have one with diamonds on the end...its just too awesome.

Hes been interested in the Magma also, is this a considerably good upgrade with good vaport/battery life? I think its better for to go with Volt or Vapor For Life but we dont know much about the Magma.

Im kinda upset about the Volcano kits. We basically sent almost the entire thing back. Now were using 3 batteries between us and no PCC's to charge on the go and only have two USBs. They take about 45 mins to charge and last him about 10 minutes of vaping and me about 25 minutes (im a delicate smoker xD).
Really dissapointed :(

Thank you everyone for such awesome suggestions!
After much research and debate I decided for myself that I would go with Volt for the 808. Seems like they boast longer battery for some reason than V4L? I dont really see how they could be that different, but money wise with what I want (PCC, etc) its best for me to buy that kit I think.

Ill probably buy a auto XL from V4L or regular. That should do the trick for me. These two companies batteries Im assuming are agreeable on each others chargers? Let me know before I buy if i am being naive or not. They do look the same from the pics?

I think I will tell my boyfriend to get the V4L for his home smoking needs. I think hes happy using the Volcano for work and stuff (Im totally annoyed by them right now), and he can get a manual XL from V4L for home usage. Thats when both of us vape the most (of course, sitting behind a laptop!)

Im not sure why Volt offers two sizes for a kit. You can choose a 65mm and 78mm but Im not sure whether or not the 78 fits in the PCC? Perhaps someone here with a Volt can testify this? Itd be cool to have a smaller and longer size. Also I like how they offer different LED colors. Now...if they only ALSO had diamond tips...

The Volt batteries have slightly longer life because of a different internal switch design that takes up less space, I assume it allows them to fit a couple extra cells in there for the extra space. However, I hear the difference in lifespan between the Volt battery vs a normal 808 battery like V4L is very minimal in real life use. I currently am using the 65mm Volt batteries and they last me awhile, but I don't chain vape it all the time. If I'm using it constant, I'd guess something like 2-3 hours of use. The 78mm battery would be a bit more, probably another hour or so. However, I don't chain vape most of the time, and my pcc can charge my extra battery before I kill the current one, so the shorty batteries aren't a problem for me.

They two options of 65mm and 78mm for the kit are for the battery length, as it seems you've already figured out. Both batteries will fit in the charging slot of the PCC, but only the 65mm will fit in the top slot as a fully assembled ecig with a cartridge. Even though I have the 65mm version that will fit in the PCC slot, I need somewhere to put a couple extra cartos when I'm out, so I usually just stick two cartos in that slot and keep my fully assembled ecig in my pocket. If that sounds like something you might do, then going up to the 78mm wouldn't really hassle you at all, as you could still charge it with your PCC.

The XL batteries on the V4L site are a bit longer than the 78mm volt batteries, so probably another hour or so of life I'd guess, but they also aren't the regulated type like the Volt ones. Different people have different opinions on what they like best, but I find the regulated batteries like the Volt work best with the new horizontal cartos (the type SmokelessImage sells with the Volt kit). You could use the V4L xl battery with the Volt cartos if you wanted, though.

Edit: I have charged Volt batteries on a standard V4L wall charger with no issues

Im assuming cartos from V4l and Volt are interchangeable too? So if I get cartomizers from V4L I can use them on the Volt correct?

Thank you for letting me know about the sizes. I decided Im going to just buy two 65s and an extra 78 from them to get it all in one go. My boyfriend will probably just end up testing mine. Im looking forward to seeing how long they last. Surely much longer than what we're using currently.
