I learned about steeping juices for 2 weeks with my first oder of Wyatt Earp. What a fantastic change after 2 weeks. I have done this with a lot of juices I didn't like at first and it really makes a difference. Last week I read a post that said they left the cap off when letting them steep. I would like to know what is the best way.

If you steep with cap off, is the drip cap still in place or is the bottle completely open to the air? I'm sure some of you that have been doing this for a long time should have some good input. Thanks.

I leave the cap off for 24 hours when I first get liquid. I can't say if it works better or not because ever liquid is different. One may steep quicker than another regardless of the cap. Steeping can improve flavors. However, a lot of flavors don't even need it.

Tobaccos usually require steeping. Backwoods Brew is famous for it's steeping time (Malty Toffee takes 10 days for me). At first, Malty Toffee tastes almost like nothing. After a few days, it's a little better. After 10 days, it's fantastic. The cap on or off isn't that big of a deal. The best advice we'd all agree on is putting the liquid in a cool dark place
