No, none of your batteries are good for vaping.

Your IPV3 needs a matched pair of IMR or IMR/hybrid, safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries. Most manufactures recommend a matched pair of 30A batteries for a 150 watt mod.

18650 Batteries

1. Orbtronic SX30 2100mah 30A
2. Sony VTC4 2100mah 30A
3. Xtar 2100mah 30A (re-wrapped Sony VTC4)

1. AW 1600mah 24A
2. Orbtronic SX22 2000mah 22A
3. LG HE2 2500mah 20A
4. Samsung 25R 2500mah 20A
5. AW 2200mah 20A (new)

Hey guys, i got an ipv3 today and the kanger subtank. Its all good, but i am worrying about the batteries. I bought 2 batteries (Li ion, 18650 3.7V, 2500 mAh, 9.25 WH) with the box mod. Are these 2 safe for subohm vaping?(0.5).

Also, i have my 2 old batteries which are Samsung 18650-26F. Are those safe?

Thanks !:)

The type of battery to use is the "IMR" high drain batteries.

You're going to want 30 amp batteries for that mod

I have the ipv3 and love it. 7.5 hrs on a full charge and that's vaping steady. Make sure they are new batteries and paired and charged at same time like said above. I was told you should also rotate the spot of the batteries after every charge and that you shouldn't charge until batteries are at 25% idk if it matters but that's what I was suggested. Make sure you are using at most 30amp batteries only and that info is straight from the manufacturer. Also the batteries must be the same brand, same amps, same exact battery.

Hi Savvas and welcome aboard!

The others above have given you good advice, so I won't repeat it.

Just want to add that we're glad you asked. It was the smart thing to do :)

Happy and Safe Vaping!

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I will ditch my Old batteries and will search online for 2 new recommended ones. I will still use the two batteries i bought yesterday since they are brand new, but i wont risk it with the old ones.

The thing is that I will probably never use 150 watts. Who needs all that power? I find 20-30W to be satisfying for me.

Edit: After some research i found out that the battery that i bought yesterday are indeed 2 brand new Samsung 25R. Which throws me a bit on the safe side.

Basically you want either the Samsung 18650 25-R (light blue color) or the Sony VTC5's. The Sony's are almost impossible to find since their production plants got destroyed in 2011. I say just go with the Samsung.

Also, like the other guy said, always pair the batteries. Buy them together, charge them together, and always use the same two together. So, what I would do is buy 4 batteries. Then mark them with a magic marker 1, 2, 3, 4. Keep 1 and 2 together and 3 and 4 together. When 1 and 2 are in use, you can have 3 and 4 charging, etc.

Thank you all very much for your invaluable input. I will make sure to follow what you advised. Happy vaping!

Edit: I found 2 25R's for 15pounds on Amazon, but they are Green. I take it they are legit right?(Not being light blue).
No. All of my Samsungs are light blue. That could be a rewrap or mislabeled. I would pass on those

Hate to throw a monkey wrench in this late in the game, but it's recommended that you don't buy batteries from Amazon or eBay, unless you know and trust the vendor - many of the third-party vendors on these sites are known to be selling fake batteries.

Reliable sources for batteries:
Batteries-Chargers-Flashlights-Only The Best
Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor
Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!

Was gonna post just this. Don't buy batteries from anywhere other than these 3 sites.

Even vape shop websites are selling junk batteries these days. I'd link them but I don't wanna give them the satisfaction of advertisement.
