So I pretty much only use my Reo since I got it a couple weeks ago. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Mine is new so it has the upgraded contacts for sub-ohming. I've been running it at .22 ohms with no trouble so far, it doesn't even get hot in my hand like most of my other mechs do.

I was just wondering if there was a lowest recommended resistance for the Reo with the sub-ohm kit, and what problems I might run into if I run it too low. Thanks!

Assuming you batteries can handle. If you go too low or very low for a long hit the spring will heat up and start to sag or collapse.

The spring acts like a fuse, it does this by turning high amps into heat that will cause it to soften and collapse. A short does this very quickly protecting your battery. When pushing low ohms it can also heat up and soften.

I cannot remember exactly but somebody did collapse the spring at something under 2 ohms but I cannot remember the exactly. I think it was sub .17 but I'm not sure.

Also our meter are not very accurate at low sub ohms and small changes have a bigger impact.

.5 ohm change from 1.5 to 1.0 only increase amps by 1.4 amps, while a .5 ohm change from .22 to .17 increases amps by 5.61 amps.

If you want to play lower I'd suggest having some spare spring handy and please report back what you find as the bottom ohm it can take.

Here's the thing - as FB alluded to, the margin of error of your multimeter starts to play a part, but i don't think it does much damage.

Let's play a little game: i'm running 30A batteries - so theoretically i can run coils of 0.14Ω. That's a constant discharge rating - and really since batteries age and some are made by liars, i like to run at maybe 80% of that battery capacity so 24A maximum.

That bumps my coil up to 0.175Ω - for safety yeah?

What about my meter - well they all have a margin of error, but it's nothing huge at all - even cheap ones are like 0.05%

See the resistance reading there at < 1Ω?

So - 2 things: Use the formula wheel and the best batteries you can. If you're low sub-ohming on 10A batteries - a fun time awaits you! So know your battery specs. I use different batteries for different mods and different coil builds.

I run duals on an Atomic on a LP sub-Ohm kitted Reo at 0.3Ω, with a spring and not a fuse mod. The spring will sag at some of the resistances above and they are also not fun to vape, even cloudchasing!

So in other words, as low as you dare given that you have clean contacts and know your batteries!

The other side of the kits, and it's a pity they are referred to as SO or Sub-Ohm kits is that even if you use higher Ω coils - say 1.2Ω (you realise that about a year or two ago they were called low Ω right?? cos all cartos were rated that way, based on what electronic devices could fire), you still gain from the deal from less cleaning of your Reo and longer battery life.

Less cleaning and the same battery lasts longer... yeah!

Just mentioning it is all. The lung-burning lobby of Reonauts is a vocal and persistent bunch, but there are benefits for everyone as a result.

Right I should change that pic, haven't used a tank in over a month :)

No, I like the vape I get from a tiny atty too, I have an RM3 and it's very nice. But I really love the wide open airflow I get from the zenith. I like the atomic/RM4 too, but the zenith tops it. A little less flavor, yes, but an overall more satisfying vape for me. But I've heard a lot of people here sing the praises of the RM2, I'll be scanning the classifieds for one cause they can't all be wrong
