I have an ego-c 1000 pass-thru and I've been using an atomizer but want to switch and try a clearo how do I know which one will fit my battery

Any 510 connection will fit, but the eGo connection - ie something that either uses or covers the eGo cone threading looks the best, imo.

There are adapters you can buy to cover up the threads/connection...

eGo connection - theads covered by eGo 'skirt': (my favorite Tabac BCC from Good Prophets or heaven gifts)
Some are oversized/top heavy for the eGo - the protank and the vivi nova - both need adapters:
