I know for a fact that my home number has been added to the do not call list previously. Today, I have received a TON of telemarketing calls. From window companies, rug companies, health insurance, car insurance, colleges, etc. This never happens. The only calls that I usually get like this are if a company is calling to see if a bill has been sent out.
I'm not even exaggerating when I say that there is 1 call every 5 minutes. Most of them say that they will take us off the list, which they do.. since I am not getting calls from them specifically anymore, just other companies. I asked the ones that were nice and said they would take us off the list if they had any other information about how they got my number- they told me that it some how came from a Hotmail address that we don't even have. It's my girlfriends name in the email address but she doesn't use hotmail.
It's strange. I feel like someone did it as a prank. Within the past 10 minutes I resubmitted my number into the do not call register, but I am completely unsure and kind of freaked out about what to do if that doesn't work.
