Question about the Black Chrome SB

I just retired my old Black SB. It's treated me well for roughly 2 years, but it was looking a little tired (paint chips, plating wearing off the button, but the final blow was when the atty connector started to short out). I loved that thing, it was my go to for a very long time. I've tried many other mods along the way, even made a few myself, but I would always go back to my trusty SB.

So last week I ordered the Black Chrome SB. I liked the look of the black switch (not an option when I bought my last one), so I figured I'd go with that option. It came in the mail yesterday, and damn is it sexy. I do have a couple questions about it tho.

-The "color code" is black chrome, does this mean that it has a plated finish unlike the original BSB? If so, will it hold up to the abuse of a daily mod better than the BSB did? Not that I'm complaining at all about the BSB finish, because I know what I put that thing thru, but if this new one has a tougher finish that just makes it that much better.

-The button, what makes that black? Again, not looking for trade secrets, just wondering how it's going to hold up to my daily use. Because the old style chrome buttons I would wear the plating off in a matter of weeks.

As a side note, you can fill out a service ticket and get your old SB repaired reasonably and quickly, giving you a great backup or a wonderful gift to a newer vaper. Silver Bullets can live on almost forever!

I normally just rebuild the unit and leave the body alone. With a unit that is 2 years old I would charge $10 for the rebuild, refinsh would be $35

The Black Chrome is a common finish on firearms and will scratch. It is not a rugged finish but it looks so damn good As time goes on it will wear down to a smoke color
