Question about the Vivi Nova 2 ml tank

Hey guys, I just got a hold of a Vivi Nova 2 ml tank and I was curious if there's any way I can get rid of the dry bad taste on the first couple of hits. I'm not getting any flavor and the wick is very wet (full tank). After I take two "primer" hits it tastes okay but not great, and I was wondering if that is supposed to even happen. any suggestions or answers will help thanks a bunch.

Just make certain that the wicks are nice and wet before you begin vaping. You may need to let the full tank "set up" for a few minutes and either twist or twirl your battery device to ensure they get nice and soaked. Doing the primer hits as you noted may insure that there is some juice in the heating coil head from the first vape.

Other than that, I don't have more suggestions.

You didn't mention what other devices that you have used before. It's been my experience that the string-wicked devices often mute flavors. I get better flavor from a cartotank.

You could do the above or else you could try and re wick it yourself. When you do the little thing has to come out completely and the juice sure flows over the wick and coil better. I've just started to coil my own wicks on the nova and it's been a real eye-opener. All you need is some kanthal wire (£2 for 10 meters) some wick (£1 for 2 meters) and a needle for darning socks.
Put the needle across the length of wick and take about 3 inches of the wire and wrap it round the wick and needle about 4 or 5 turns. Take the needle away from the wick/coil. Then pull the little nipple and grommet off of the bottom of the nova atomizer and feed the 2 wire ends through the atomizer making sure that the coil sits in the space in the atomizer head. Put one of the wires through the little rubber grommet and push the grommet home so that you have one wire on the outside of the grommet and one wire on the inside. Then push the little nipple back into the grommet and trim the two wires as close as you can with nail scissors. You are done in 5 mins. and you never have to buy another atomizer again. Things to watch out for though. When wrapping your coil do not cross the wires else it will short. Depending on what wick thickness you require you may have to downsize the needle to a thinner one. Just play with it for your own preferences. This is the method i use and it's quick and easy. You could also modify the housing a little to take a thicker wick and coil. Here's a little vid that i found on YouTube where the guy uses a nail to wind the coil and thread the wick through it afterwards. But as you can see in the vid he's struggling to feed the wick though the coil. Using the method above you wrap the coil and the wick together around the needle and then just pull the needle out when you are done. Much simpler.

I got the 2ml mini vivi nova(I believe to be the genuine one) together as a package when I bought an itaste vv. Previously been using the smoktek version of the mini vivi nova which works well,no burnt taste, good flavor and vapor, but leaks like a blown head gasket.

When I reached home with the new VN,I checked it out and it seems to be much better build quality than the smoktek one.4 little wicks with a pointy top metal washer.

Replaced the head with the 1.8ohm and proceeded to fill 'er up/let it soak. An hour later, sat down and expecting to be blown away with immense flavor and vapor. I was blown away totally.....with immense horrible burnt taste! I let it sit overnight, shake, tilt, priming draw,,,,,same thing. So,dumped the juice, cleaned it and pack it away for retirement in the store room and back to my leaky smoktek.

One fine day,I thought maybe I'll try rebuild the head and use cotton after reading so many positive comments.

As I dismantled it,first thing I noticed, the top of the silicone insulator was touching the bottom of the coil with burn marks,so I trimmed it shorter, wound a 5 wrap coil with 32awg kanthal on a M2.5 machine screw then thread the cotton wick made from cut cotton pad strip.Got 2ohm.

Result is like mountain and sea difference! No burnt taste and flavor is much more, err, fragrant? I even tried blasting the full 11watts from my evic with no burnt taste at all and what I got is a supa saturated warm vape.

I also tried it with a 5 wraps 30awg kanthal, checking in at 1.1ohm. My ego-t even fired it like some vv mod, with lotsa saturation and flavor.

My conclusion is the mini vivi nova is great,no leaking and it's all in the 'head' :toast:

There's some protective mesh skirting around the wick/coil assembly underneath the rubber grommet that's supposed to prevent short circuits. It is counter-productive at best. Remove it with something small by stabbing it against the side wall and pulling up being careful not to pull out the coil/wick. Also, always put a couple drops directly upon the coil when new or freshly cleaned. Nothing too finicky or difficult than any other clearo tank.

I've noticed that if I fill my mini vivis above where the wicks enter the center tube that the coil can get too wet and it will gurgle, have poor vapor and nasty harsh taste. It straightens out pretty quick after taking a few pulls with the voltage jacked up to burn off the excess.

They can be quirky but when working at their best combined with a good juice I'm quite satisfied. Each product has it's own learning curve.

I made this mistake when i first started using the Vivi nova. Don't fill her up so much and she'll be fine. Let the wicking material take the juice to the atomizer head. I use the 3ml version but you wouldn't want to put 3ml of juice in her. Unless you want to be drinking the juice through the drip tip of course. Only fill her up to where the atomizer screws to the post. It saves wasting juice and if you are using a new atomizer head or are experiencing some dry hits just turn the nova upside down and twizzle it a few time to re-coat the atomizer. Change the atomizer regularly for the best vaping experience. I've never had any problems from any of my novas so far and i now recoil my own heads which makes using a new head every couple of days very cost effective.(around 10p per head($0.15))
